I don't know if I imagined this, which is unlikely but possible, but I witnessed my hero hand a bandit's ass to it's rightful owner in a pretty unfriendly and particularly brutal, sneaky, and unfair manner - but really cool regardless!

My dude is pretty old, having plugged Lucian, saved the day, and by now having been well established in the arts of swordsmanship - which is why I find this odd. I was maniacally waving my sword in low life bandit faces when I noticed my dude initiate a pretty sweet reversal on this dude with a stag horned, foul smelling burlap potato sack draped over his face. Only instead of turning this loser around he actually smacked him in the face, rolled over his back, and stabbed him in the rear. I couldn't believe my eyes, I tell you - I immediately blamed it on the herbage standing vigilant by my side, but I refused to believe this fool notion. Yet, in all the hours I put into Fable so far, why have I not seen this before? Troubling.

Has anyone experienced this? Thus giving me the okay to cease my self amazement, or have I found a rare jewel lost in scripting? :ninja:

It sounds to me like you've simply discovered the counter move, unlocked by getting level four brutal styles.

So being this well established in the art of swordsmanship isn't so odd after all. Tell me friend, how does one initiate another one of these counter moves? And how is it different than reversals? I thought there were only two animations, at least for sword users.

Tell me friend, how does one initiate another one of these counter moves?

Point the left analog stick toward your enemy, and press X as he attacks.

And how is it different than reversals?

What do you mean by 'reversals'?

Essentially, we're talking about the same thing. Almost to a point of redundancy it would seem.

Another skill I've only ever used by accident.

i use it on my female char. cus her str. lvl is 1 star so i counter often for the insta-kill i dont like the magic system so i dont use it much

I dont actually use strength or will... skill is awsome! but when i do use strenghth i only use up front attacks. but i have seen nothing like that. i have seen my char stab somone in the back so "wahoo.."

I have never done a Counter Move, I find them to challenging .

Ah yes, I believe it is the Counter.

Always fun to use. Sadly, I cannot do what those assassin do. They twirl there weapon around, and then jab at you.

You also sound high.

And @above:
Counters aren't hard against the Guards or Bandits or Spire Guards. Timing can be difficult, but sometimes you get it just right.

have you ever done the move where you use slow time to appear behind somebody and then stab them in the back? for a while I was doing it all the time without trying, and now when I try to initiate it I can't*
