I had noticed you guys saying maths occasionally, but I guess I kept passing it off as a typo :lol:

yeah that's kind of funny too... Americans like to say that Canadians say "aboot" and "eh", which they pronounce as the letter A... and the only people I've heard say either were all American... never Canadian :lol:

The only time I've heard "aboot" is in South Park. :lol:

Re: Home-Work Help

Bob and Doug Mckenzie say 'eh' all the time. And "take off you hosehead" which I think they made up. I don't know about aboot :wacko:

Triz, write me up a functional online shop in JAVA, complemented by a SQL server and I'd be most grateful. Hehehe.

I can do that might take me six months to a year of uninterrupted time though :lol:

no, hosehead and hoser, etc. are actual terms, they didn't make those up :lol:

Haha, so they really do say "aboot".:lol:

I was pleasantly surprised when I heard your voice Hex. I think I watch too much South Park. If it weren't for the Gallery, I'd suspect you'd have a "clapping head and beady eyes", too. :ninja:

Re: Home-Work Help

The proper English term is "Mathematics: noun- The subject of something to do with numbers". Bottom says," Maths (Math)- Slag version of mathematics (See mathematics) So either way... Aboot.... I went out with girl from Germany and she said,"aboot" once.... I laugh. :lol:

Re: Home-Work Help

OK! I need help NOW! +REP for anyone who gives me the answers.

Radius= 3 1/2
Radius=1 1/2
Diameter= 1/2
1 3/11

+REP for anyone who answers.

Re: Home-Work Help

EDIT: sadly i am bad with circles and their areas.:(

Re: Home-Work Help

Can anyone tell me how to solve this simultaneous equation?

7y+x=3635 1
5y+x=2675 2

...?

In both equations, you have X and Y. And they are added up to eachother! Now take:
5y+x=2765
and ad 2 to the 5, so it becomes
7y+x=2767

and you have 7y in both equations, and should be able to figure out the difference ^^

Re: Home-Work Help

I don't think you actually know how to do it, coz that made no senseO.o I sort of know how to do it... But it's incredibly complicated. I know you have to get rid of x....

It does... but im kinda crappy explaining stuff. Hehe

And because both X and Y are variables, you can do whatever you want with them as long as you do it on "both sides".... ARgh, im so bad at this :P gonna stop

Re: Home-Work Help

Here's my homework,

1) (a) Describe Fleming's left-hand rule.
(b) What is it used for?

2) (a) Sketch a diagram of a simple motor.
(b) Indicate which direction the motor spins.

3) The diagram shows a simple electric motor, The coil is turning clockwise. Which diagram, A or B, shows the correct polarity of the magnets?

4) What are the four factors that affect the speed of the motor?

5) Write down the forumula linking voltage, current and power.

6) (a) Calculate the efficiency of a motor that converts 100 J of electrical energy into 70 J useful energy.
(b) In what form(s) is the wasted energy lost?

7) Calculate the energy used by 3.1 kW kettle if it's on for 1 1/2 minutes.

8) (a)Name five ways of improving energy efficiency in a house.
(b) Explain how each improvement reduces the amount of heat energy lost in a house.

9) Name three wires found in electrical cables and state what colour each one is.

10) Explain fully how a fuse and earth wire work together.

11) Name seven types of renewable energy resource.

12) Name three problems with renewable energy.

Get rid of it??? ..... There was this trick... Subtract the numbers on each side then your left with (Insert amount here) Y=X (Insert amount here). Try to find what numbers equal each other.

Re: Home-Work Help

Math... so we meet again, my numeric nemesis. *shakes fist*

Hope you get that sorted, AF, I wouldn't be able to even if my life depended on it.

Re: Home-Work Help

I can't remember anything from when I was in school... And it wasn't that long ago, I'm 18! :unsure:
