I got a. new toy!

Typing this, slowly and badly n my shiny new Nook. And. I realize that I missed a o back there in the word on, but the browser is a bit clumsy. Very cool, nevertheless.

Re: I got a. new toy!

Yeah. I didn't really want it (I had actually asked for a working portable CD player or a Zune or something for audiobooks) but now that I had it, it's really ****ing cool.

But the web browser... well, it's cool, but I find it a pain in the ass to navigate. Like the time I borrowed my brother's phone to check something on the internet.

On the other hand, I'm back on my laptop, because it's way easier. I was miss-clicking like crazy, and typing stuff was hard as ****.

Very nice! I'm getting one for my birthday this year. :)

Re: I got a. new toy!

I really like it so far. It didn't come with many books preloaded (Dracula, Little Women, and Pride and Prejudice are all I have) but I went and downloaded two e-books and two audiobooks from my library (you can have six at a time, and can keep them for three weeks before the evil DRM fairies come and eat them, apparently) and then I went to Baen's Free Library and downloaded another.

It was surprisingly easy and very cool. Only problem is that I need to find some headphones, because audiobooks don't play worth a damn on the little speakers it has.

Also, the web browser, which is still technically a Beta, is kinda terrible. You can type, but it doesn't show you a cursor or anything, and it's kinda hard to scroll.

But again, it might be that I'm just not used to it. Very cool so far, though, I'm having fun playing with it. Not now, obviously, because typing was a pain in the ass, but still.

Which one are you planning on getting, Tyloric? The wi-fi only version or the 3G and wi-fi?

Which ever my parents decide to get me. lol

Yeah, I like the way that works out. My mom got me the wi-fi only, because it costs about fifty bucks less. It's really stinking cool, expecially since I don't like using the web browser that much anyway.
