I punched a guy

Theres this guy at our school. Hes part of my form, and in the football matches we play, he gets ****ed at anybody who tackles him. Hes punched, pushed, kicked and even hit me around the the back of the head.
Today I was trying to tackle him. He kicks the ball past me and tries to run onto it. I run ahead of him and I was going to get the ball. He then gets me in a headlock and we both fall over. The headlocks so tight I'm almost choking. Eventually he lets go and I get up, telling him to **** off. He pushes me, saying,"What the **** are you gonna do." We push each other for a while and then I give him a right hook to the face. I excepted to be punched back very quickly, but he stumbles and falls to his knees. He holds his hands to his nose and then screams, its bleeding. He then gets up and walks towards me. He then rugby tackles me. He dosen't do much except cover the back of my shirt in blood. I punch him a few times and then at the advice of my friends walk away, but the guy still follows me. Eventually I make my way to the school reception and tell teachers whats happened. The boys been sent home and I am waiting to see what the teachers will do. All my friends say I'm a legend and if they worship me any more then they do right now they'd be a cult(Nobody really liked the guy). However I want your opinions on the matter. Was I right to punch him, because I think I might've broken his nose. I was fed up of being bullied for doing nothing other than playing football and so this happened.

Shouldn't have told the teacher. Big mistake. If he has worse injuries than you, even if it was his fault, you'll get in more sh*t. I also personally think you shouldn't have walked away... If he kept following you, you should kicked the crap out of him until he got the hint.

I've been in similar situations, hopefully, any teachers that like you will back you up and also your friends should to.

Yeah. People like that often don't respond to anything but violence, unfortuneately. Still, it's nothing to be proud of, mind. On the other hand..... dude, you totally broke a guys nose with one punch. Lad points to you.

Re: I punched a guy

he won't learn his lesson if he thinks he can keep getting up and continue. you should've established that he's not at the top of the food chain and shattered his self-righteous ass.

if you end up taking the blame for it all, it doesn't particularly matter for you. he will probably just keep it up with other people and leave you alone. alternatively, if he takes the fall for getting his own butt kicked then it might be the end of a real nuisance for everybody.

Re: I punched a guy

First punch *might* be explainable, but it was severe so I'd make use of any witnesses if I were you. I can't imagine mummy and daddy being too happy their little boy has been battered whilst in the care of the school, so watch yourself.

Maybe I'm just showing my age here but I can fully appreciate the infinite wisdom in getting adults involved in these situations - I don't know if you're UK or not, but there ought to be anti-bullying procedures in place which are there to protect you. But they can't do anything if you don't tell anyone. If enough people moan about this guy, more can be done quickly. If people just assume nothing will get any better and keep it to themselves, what do you expect to happen?

Punching the guy wasn't the best idea, but you reacted and it's done now. But I would get adults involved now seeing as it's likely to go there anyway...

If he was giving you the kind of **** you said he was giving you, he deserved to lose a little blood. I hate arrogant people, so you've got a tick in my book.

Re: I punched a guy

A similar thing happened to me once, a stupid Romanian gypsie called Andrei Niculescu-Duvaz is at my school, and he bullied the sh*t out of me, until one day I punched him in the nose and gave him a nose bleed :D

The witnessess (luckily, all my friends) were asked to give written accounts of what happened.

I got a half our detention and he got a full hour :)

Last time I smashed someone's face into a brick wall (I say last time, but to be honest it was both first AND last) he was suspended and I was made a prefect. Go figure.

Re: I punched a guy

Oh the teachers came on their own. He grabbed me and I punched him around the back of the head a few times. All he did was grab me. The only wound I got was a cut on the elbow which was caused by some rocks scratching me. I am getting a 2 day internal exclusion and he is getting excluded permanently(His behaviour hasn't improved from year 7). Everybody in my school regards me as a hero, and even the teachers are thanking me.

Internal exclusion?

And nice one. Glad to see it's been solved.
