I think I can identify with the japanese schoolgirls in "those" shows.

Because today I had a tentacle forcefully inserted down my throat. Well, it was some sort of rubber tube with a camera on, but that's besides the point. Lately I've been having lots of trouble with my stomach, so I went for one of those exams.

However, due to a misunderstanding of me not supposed to have breakfast before as well as the drugs not taking effect, it was very painful and there was vomit all over me, the doc and his office.

Worst part is, since we had to abort it, I have to go back and do it again! :'(

I had an egd last week, they knocked me out. Who the hell did your's while you were awake, that must have sucked.

what you refer to is called an Endoscopy, and by a strange coincedence, i was meant to go for one on monday, but has been postponed until next month. i know of some people who have been unfortunate enough to feel like a spit roast, copping it from both ends. I have been having a lot of trouble with my stomach too. alot of chest pain caused chronic reflux.
sorry to hear it all went awry, it's not a pleasant thing to go through. the aneasthetist may have to up your dose a bit next time

Can't you ask to be sedated at least for this procedure? My nieghbour had to have one and they drugged her up good.

Yeah eating before kinda messes with the drugs they give you... like anti-biotics your suppose to take them before you eat so they "work better".

Bad news about having to go back and do it all again :(

Yeah and now the first time will haunt me, so the next time will be 1000 times worse! At least I was blissfully unaware of what was about to happen when I did - no - attempted it the first time. :'(

That's how I felt about my second+third surgeries, the first time I had no idea how awful it would be so I was all upbeat, no problem. The second time I knew what they were gonna do and how much it sucked.

When I had that tube down the throat last week they gave me 'versed?'. Then they knocked me most of the way out. They said the versed makes you forget anything that happens to you while they are giving it to you and then you are normal 30 minutes later. I have no memory of what they did and I'm glad.

Eeeeesh, all this just reminds me of that "awake" film... the one about the guy who is awake through brain surgery or something?
