Infinity Ward: Prestige Edition Very Limited, Sold Out in UK

Infinity Ward's Community Manager, Robert Bowling, recently stated that the Modern Warfare 2 Prestige Edition isn't going to make the same mistake that the Halo 3 Legendary Edition made and will be limited, with Infinity Ward already refusing to respond to the huge retailer demand.

Bowling told IGN, "we've already been asked by retailers to up the production numbers due to demand, which we immediately denied."

"We decided from the beginning that we want this to be for the hardcore fans and early adopters. The fact that it is actually limited is one of the coolest parts, which is why we've individually numbered every copy."

In other Prestige Edition news, it now appears that the UK's exclusive stockist, HMV, has stopped taking pre-orders after selling its pre-order allocation. So if you're in the UK and hadn't had chance to pre-order - like myself - then eBay after launch is probably your best bet now.

I was thinking about getting the Prestige Edition (Die Hard Call of Duty Fan), but I'm not sure I'll get it in time, it's like the master chief helmets, everyone loves them at first then they just get boring.

I chuckle a little each time I see that 'limited' Halo 3 edition with the helmet in the pricecut bin in various stores, both online and actual stores.

Yeah, that version costs about the same as the normal version
