Re: Is this really how the world views us?

I saw her on Letterman yesterday... The best part about it was that she didn't know that everyone in the room hated her.

Ugh, she's such a freaking idiot! And the irony is, only one of the cast members is even FROM New Jersey!! Maybe I'll just move to Canada, I hear they're all nice there... :P

Re: Is this really how the world views us?

When I hear San Francisco, I think of The Rock - Alcatraz.

More specific a movie with Sean Connery and Nicolas Cage - ain't nothin' gay about that :D

Re: Is this really how the world views us?

I never knew, or thought that about San Fransico. But then again, I live in Maine and nobody knows we exist! :(

I know you exist! One of the four states that border Springfield. Duh.

You're wrong. My city (take a guess, Noord-Brabant) is unknown. :'(

I've known a lot of Canadians in my time. I can tell you that's not even close to being the case. Also, I live very, very, very close to the Canadian border.

Jackie Chan Adventures. I love that cartoon! Probably one of my favorite of all time.

So I'm from Virginia. What's my stereotype?

But... I have heard of it... Hmm, somewhere in Noord-Brabant, huh? Maybe I've heard of it, but I'm not gonna guess. :P Also, I'm just some city in Noord-Holland. <_<
Hm, they're both Noord. xD.

Wow, and I'm still talking English to you. O_o' Oh well.

Re: Is this really how the world views us?

On Xbox live, I cant even talk without an american automatically making fun of me.
Whenever that happens I just a cheesy phrase like "i am rubber you are glue" and always be sure to make them get the impression that you dont care what they think about you, as you dont care about them, and its always good to have them leave the lobby thinking "im a jerk" to themselves. Dont keep at it, if you just simply correct them and dont even insult them for being stupid and judging you by a stereotype, then ignore them and they wont gain another victim that they can argue with/ insult. A lot of the people of XBL just want to put others down because they dont have a life.

You sure they weren't just stirring you up?

droded;432053 said:
Pretty sure they were only making fun of you.

I can tell the difference between making fun of me for where I live and legitimately wondering if I'm gay. Sure, there's been one or two instances in which people were just messing around, but the majority of people who bring it up actually think that I'm probably gay. Then, I tell them I'm not and they get really awkward about it. Finally, without being mean, aggressive, etc., I tell them that it was ignorant of them to ask or assume that, and they totally back off. It's kind of funny.

When I think "California" I think of Hollywood, Arnold Schwarzenegger and The OC.

Bah, all southern CA stuff. Well, not so much Arnold anymore, but he used to be a part of Hollywood. I preach about how northern CA is better, but the northern CA VS southern CA thing is about as serious as let's say...a high school football rivalry.

but when i think of california: the governator, in n out burger, surfers, dogtown and z-boys... nothing about gays. just awesome stoner and beach culture.

Hmm, not much beach culture over here. We probably talk and act the same way as those 'beach culture' people, but if you want stoner culture, we've got it. ;) It's hella sick, bro.

What's a Maine?

Re: Is this really how the world views us?

Not San Francisco, California in general. But thats not why I hate california, I hate it because of their crappy gun laws.

Re: Is this really how the world views us?

I don't really think of much when someone says "San Fransisco." I barely remember it's even in California and then the bridge :/

I know how you feel though. I live in New Jersey, which used to be considered a prefectly respectable place to live until Snookie and all her douchebag friends ruined it via "The Jersey Shore". I don't sleep in a tanning bed, wear "bling", or get arrested for being drunk on the beach at 9:00 AM. But whatever... it's totally stupid, but that's just people showing their ignorance I guess.

Actually, as a New Englander, I was brought up to think that New Jerseyans are rude/angry people with short tempers and that they're terrible drivers. Apparently a bunch of them say how they hate New York yet they travel there everyday just because they want to...kind of ironic (that's what my friend said he witnessed on a subway the few times he was there)

No one could point to New England if you gave them a map of America >D.

And when I think of "Maine" I think of Mainers who are terrible drivers. "Maniacs" as I like to call them. Similar but not the same as "Massholes" who drive very aggressively and like to use their horns. Mainers (or Maniacs) also like coming down to New Hampshire to purchase goods (such as food) due to the limited amount of taxes the state has.

Um...when I think of Virginia I think "respectable southern." Good food and people with a hint of racism. Oh...and Ferries. (This is a very inaccurate and ignorant view)

New Hampshire?
