Island of doom thing

i know someone has posted on something about this already but i figured id start up a new one.
ok so....i now hear u DONT need ur dog to find all 10 treasures... which is good b/c mine is dead.
so...i have 9 out of 10, yes i have the one that u have to swim way out for, and yes the one in the waterfall
i had the one right in the middle of the island
the one right behind the tree
the one on top of the ship
the one on the ledge that u get after u kill some beetles and then jump down to the main path after that
one underneath the "crashed ship"
and the one where u have to smash a wood like door/blockage thing after u kill the beetles.
and the dive spot.
which one am i missing lol

I'm doing the quest for the second time right now, I'll try to figure out which one you're missing.

Okay you're missing the dig spot one. Probably cuz your dog died.

Edit: It's right in the middle of the island near the shovel.

but someone said they found all 10 without digging at all
and how do i dig without my dog

Just look around for the spot, it's right near the shovel. When the shovel icon appears hit down on the D-pad.

Why's your dog dead anyway?

Ah, yeah

The only way to bring him back is to pick the "loved one" choice.

oh r u serious lol so i cant complete this quest?? b/c no dig spot symbol is appearing around the shovel when im there

can anyone tell me if i can even complete this quest now that i dont have a dog and cant dig hahaha

yes u can complete the quest. and to dig without the dig sign just go into your items and pick ur shovel and he will dig

i did that
but it didnt work
am i not doing something right
i went into my inventory
clicked on the spade
and my girl doesnt do anything..just stands there

You probably have to be in the dig spot, its pretty close to the shovel. Probably about 5-6 feet away.

so do i basically have to keep trying until i find the EXACT dig spot
because ive been constantly going back and forth to my inventory lol and clicking the spade and it just does back to my regular screen doing nadaa.

anyway anyone can describe exact digspot lol

There's really no way to describe the actual digspot unless you screenshot it while you're doing the quest or something. Should've did this quest before you got reaver :P

lol! ughhh haha...so...im basically better off just..NOT doing the quest?? haha or i'll try every single little section on that island hah thanks a bunch

OKAY! I GOT IT!

Here is the 10 locations when you DO NOT have your dog. (In order you should come to them).

1. Inside the belly of the Sunken Ship on the Beach

2. The Ocean Alcove far out into the ocean. Just go to the main path, the one that leads to the center of the island, and instead of following the trail left, follow the rock wall right out into the ocean, you will find the chest.

3. On top of the sunken ship's deck. Start following the path that leads to the center of the island. Before you actually reach the center, there is a small path that leads left. You have to vault down off of the ledge and onto the ship to get the chest.

4. When coming to the end of the trail that leads to the center of the island, vault off of the ledge to the left and there is a chest there.

5. There is a chest in front of the tree in the center of the island.

6. There is a chest behind the tree in the center of the island.

7. If you stand at the chest in front of the tree and turn right, there is a Dive Spot in the pond (Ripples) containing treasure.

8. Behind the center waterfall there is a chest.

9. Take the patch that leaves the center of the island and inside the cave at the top, there is a chest hidden behind a wooden wall.

10. After getting the chest in the cave, continue to follow the trail away from the center of the island and there is the final chest, on a ledge that you must vault to.

Pretty much, the "Dig Spot" treasure just turns into a chest if you do not have your dog. So there would actually be 2 chests in the little island (In front of the tree and behind it).

I REPEAT. If you DO NOT have your dog, there is NO dig spot for this quest, instead it is replaced by a chest.

EDIT: I have added a picture of the chest that replaces the dog spot, in case any were in doubt. You can clearly see the shovel, and the chest. (Sorry about quality).

Meet a friend there who still has a dog, don't co-op it though. they can find the dig spot for you. i seem to recall a chest over behind rocks at the back of the lagoon, just a bit to the left of the ramp
