iTouch problem.

If anyone here has an iTouch, you probably know that the software is at version 3.1.1 or something. Well, due to my laziness, I haven't updated it past 1.1.5. Lol, I know. Anyhow, how can I update it to just before 3.1.1 or whatever? Because 3.1.1 costs money, and I don't have $5.

Also, when I connect it, it will no longer ask me if I want to update to an earlier (later for me) version. It did that earlier today when I had just updated to 1.1.5.

Basically I'm asking how to manually update the software.

Whoa, you are back on that firmware? Damn!

I can't at the moment, But I have a site bookmarked at my computer at home that offers all the firmware upgrades. And if you have it by the time I get home, just plug it in to iTunes, go to your iPod tab, then hold shift and the click on restore. A window should pop up. Then you locate the firmware.

And the firmware for and iPod touch 1g and 2g were different for 2.0 firmware and up, and they might be for iPod touch firmware 3.0 and up. I'm not sure.

So if you can't find the firmware for it, just hang tight. I only have till 3:30 until I'm out of school. And my time is 9:21 right now.

EDIT: Nevermind, I found it. I'm not sure if this is illegal or not, so I have to send it over PM so none of the mods will punch me in the face with an infraction.
