I'm glad with the change in time and setting. I'd hate to see another generic RPG when other areas have yet to be explored.

Fable IV should be more into the future, but honestly, I think Fable V should be during the period of the Old Kingdom. You should live the life of either the Last Archon (Who originally created the Tattered Spire) or the First Archon (William Black). It could be very interesting and lead to much more backstories, like Lore-Whores like me love.

When i start seeing cars in Fable, Thats when i Stop playing fable. I'm all for moving forward but When i think of FABLE, i picture a fantasy setting with swords and magic, Ancient times. Fable 2 was fun though i liked the time period for the game, and i'm still gonna play fable 3 cause it just looks bad-ass.
I also agree that one of the games should be back in the old kingdom, that would be pretty cool.

Agree with cars. I'll still play but it would be disappointing . I assume they are going to do a whole Christopher Columbus thing with finding "America" then making it it's own country

As for the spire, i have been wondering lately, what if either V or IV were were like the spire destroyed everything, like what theresa shows you on fable 2, that way we woulld not be in the industrial rev anymore and it would be old times again, like the old kingdom

For the record, its called Fable for a reason, (meaning not possible) like it couldn't really happen. So they wont be into modern.

A fable is a succinct story, in prose or verse, that features animals, mythical creatures, plants, inanimate objects, or forces of nature which are anthropomorphized (given human qualities), and that illustrates a moral lesson (a "moral"), which may at the end be expressed explicitly in a pithy maxim.

It would be impossible, or very difficult to make a game without the industries and factories after the revolution. It all depends on how you play the game, at that could change it completely, making storyline in the next game not make sense. The only logical next step is Old Kingdom.

What you mean?
Steampunk is a genre of roleplaying in which there's a world where everything is powered by clockwork and steam. Everyone dresses in a Victorian-esque suit and have a profession of sorts. Generally goggles with multiple lenses are involved. There are airships, powered by steam. Pirates (in regular pirate ships) that attack cities. And even Engineers making things never thought possible with the Coal-age (Lifts, false limbs, robots, clockwork rifles, etc.)

Couldn't of said that better myself.

Steampunk would be awesome!

It would be incredibly awesome, but I have a feeling the Fable community would be split over it, it would be a "hate it or love it" game... personally I'd probably love it
