Yes. You can kill all the birds this is what happens when you do:

But he gives you a bonus when you kill them all. I'm going to look right now. It might be 50 gold now that I think about it.

Edit: So I was off both times :lol: but you DO get a bonus of 20 Gold.

I did it just to complete a side quest I found that lightning is quite effective since it auto seeks its targets
