Kingdom for Kelflings tip

i figured this out when i realized how inefficent my kelflings were, running all over the place and just wasting time. efficency is the key here, so if anyone has anything to add to this stratagy, go for it. i was so short of kelflings to activate buildings and low on practicly all recorces, so this is what i did. im sure some have already figured this out, but i figured i would share anyway.

first off, get rid of ALL transporters, they are useless. you are a much better transporter than them.

have the kelfings do what they do best, mine resorses. but rather than having them deliver the stuff to a building, have them make a stockpile in one spot. having them running around to buildings wastes time. so, i will use rock as an example, but do this with all the resorses.

teach a kelfing to mine rock. then pick him up and put him down somewhere VERY close to where he is mining from. the closer the better. then repeat with several other kelfings and have them bring the stone to the exact same spot. keep in mind that the resorses at the edge of the map are unlimited, so have them mine there. this way they dont wast time carrying one unit of rock all accross the level. they just mine, turn around, and mine some more. doing this for about an hour i have a rock stockpile of about 3000.

this way, you will have just 4 stock piles of resorses, 1 pile for each resorse. so now all you have to do is move units to wherever you need em. and since you can cary at least 10 times more than a kelfing (currently i can carry 25 units at once, while a kelfing carrys only 1) and just make a few trips to wherever you need it. pluss, you will always have plenty of kelfings to spare when you need one to activate a building.

then whenever you get more kelflings, just assign them to whatever resorse pleases you, and when you need to activate a building, just take one away. and NEVER RUN LOW ON RESORCES AGAIN!

hope this helped. +rep me if it did.

Re: Kingdom for Kelflings tip

I actually disagree with this way of working. I think it's easy to get an over abundance of resources. Most of the time you don't just need rock you need cut stone and from there brick.

I have enough Keflings that I never have to wait on the base resources just the transformed ones. I'd rather have the Keflings doing the menial jobs while I work on Kingdom building.

If I find I'm running short on an item that's when I will help them out by carrying a few rounds of stuff.

Early in the game I can see this making a bigger difference than later on because of the simpler set of needs and the smaller number of keflings. I'll have to try that the next time I play.

I did have them clear out all the limited resources, using a similar plan to yours, so that I could find all the bonus items.

I'll try those methods if I get the game. Really sounds interesting, so I might scrounge up some money. But I have to miss out on my 80 bucks this month. I have to pay for the old Xbox repairs. Shat.

yes that is where it runs into problems, but whenever i need cut stone or brick all i gotta do is make a few trips from my huge pile of rock. mabey i will get a few transporters now that iv got so much basic matterials. but befor i did this i had transporters just standing around waiting for stuff to appear for them to move, so i got rid of them all.

edit: also, i had problems befor with being low on all resorces, mostly do to my kingdom being not planned out very well, the poor kelflings had to drag those resorses very far to where they where needed. i have now relocaded my stone cutter right next to where the kelflings are mining stone and so now half of them mine and bring it to the stone cutter, and half make a pile. its working well so far. now if i have one transport cut stone to the brick house, i think there will be enough of a delay that i dont run out of cut stone.

edit edit: ok, iv made a few changes, this works much better. i will use rock and 4 kelfings in my example.

have 3 kelfings mining rock, and build a stone cutter right behind them. have 2 kelfings mine the rock and turn around and put it in the stone cutter, and have the 3rd just turn around and make a pile. build a brick mason a short distance (not right next to, we want the kelfing to have to walk a little) from the stone cutter. have teh 4th kelfing move cut stone to the brick mason. this way cut stone will always be produced faster than the kelfing can take it away, so you will always have a large supply of cut stone and brick, as well as rock.

now all thats left for you to do is move the basic and evolved resorces to the places that use them. rather than having to move basic resorces to be developed as well.
