It seems all is not lost for Big Huge Games (developers of most recently Kingdoms of Amalur), after they had been closed down as Epic have acquired them and established a new Maryland, US-based development studio called Impossible Studios. They have also started straight back to work on Infinity Blade: Dungeons.

The following statements have been released...
Impossible studio director Sean Dunn
Epic has truly embraced this stellar collection of developers who were displaced by the closing of Big Huge Games.
Epic president Michael Capps
We were so glad we could help keep this great team together, and we're lucky to have them. Pairing the imagination and experience of Impossible with Epic's technology, IP and resources makes for a business greater than the sum of its parts.

I don't think it's being given enough credit. It's one of my favorite games, up there with Fable, Assassin's Creed, and Fallout. Hell, it rivals Fallout as an RPG. I even got an Xbox Live friend of mine to get Kingdoms, and he said it's one of the most amazing games he's ever played. I can't vouch for this myself, not having played the Elder Scrolls and all yet, but this friend of mine said Kingdoms was better than Skyrim.

Hell, I'm playing Kingdoms right now. God I love it.
