Korea.

Re: Korea.

The thing I find funny is that we put Saddam into power. And Saddam wasn't the first person to gas people, the British were, at the end of World War II I believe.

Re: Korea.

Nah I doubt that seen as in the CIA is exclusive to the USA. We have sold them their guns though (I think) and trained their army (Again, I think).

Re: Korea.

Uh, Germans were gassing Jews, homos, physically and mentally disabled/handicapped people, sympathizers and those against the war effort long before the war was even close to being over. They came up with the idea when the war started, finding mass gassings to be cheaper and easier to organize than a bullet or two per person.
I meant testing biological weapons.

We don't deal in AK47s. We sold AR-series rifles and M16a rifles to Iraq defense forces and police, as well as IDF.

Okay, I quit. Godwin's law has been fulfilled twice, and this thread makes me want to kill kittens. I step down as ombudsman, let someone else rage over this for a while.
I'm just saying what I think. And we have supplied weapons to the enemy, thats a part of the irony of the situation.

And Godwin's law? You fulfilled it, not me.

Re: Korea.

Meh, I'm backing out of this thread. Any serious discussions involving things like religion or politics always end up with someone thinking less of you for the wrong reasons.

Re: Korea.

I believe North Korea isn't ready to start any war anywhere. N. Korea is still a long way from a weaponized nuclear capability. But Nukes are their only bargaining chip because they have nothing else to work with as always. North Korean's escapades are for more blackmail and attention in order to restart the 6-party talks afresh. Getting the attention and recognition from its neighbors and the new US government means a new opportunity for getting the nuclear deal going again. This time, no last minute changes in treaty obligations please! And apart from the terrible casualties, a war in the area will cause the world economy to collapse devastatingly. The Chinese economy is inseparably paired with US and the rest of the world now. China would not tolerate any war to break in the Korean Peninsula.
