Well, I don't have alot of them, taken from that my normal CPU usage is only 10% max - and then when KOTOR starts it kicks up to 100% and stays there... Most of the stuff belongs to "System", and I dont really wanna mess with that.=]

What is the bottom one in the task manager that says 97% CPU used?

Plus im pretty sure a few of them are unneeded processes.

I'd kill for an English version of windows....

Systemetsvänteprocess...System...waiting...process, if that makes more sense. I am sure it is named something totally different in the English version...

Seems like a large portion of CPU to be using for a 16Kb file...

Ahhh...it is basicly just all the unused CPU power. Apparently, the CPU never "rests" when the computer doesn't run anything, it needs to be doing something - and that is what that little thing does. Just something for the idle processor to be playing with until it is given a tougher task, so to speak.

Thats System idle process

Sometimes two process conflict with each other and kill CPU
You have a lot of process going there try killing some of them like jusched and jucheck and firefox worst that could happen is you need to reboot your system

You may also want to check MSCONFIG for start up programs there's an explanation in the second link

Yeah id have to agree with you there, did seem like alot of processes going on and from what i could tell not all are essential.

But on the other hand, they didn't seem to use up alot of CPU power. :ninja:

Just becuase it says they are not in the processes doesnt mean they arent in reality. Ive found my CPU clogged down afew times in past becuase of alot of useless processes running that seemed to use 0% CPU power aswel so...

One process might conflict with KoTOR though. You could try right clicking the KoTOR process and uping the priority I don't recommend realtime unless nothing else works

Hmmm. That did help, a bit. Made it playable, but it still lags at random places (Like the battle just outside the apartement you use as base when you first get to the planet below). After the battle the entire area is lag-free, but the battle is...horrible.

Tried those other drivers?

Maybe Disc Cleanup and Defrag is in order soon aswel...

I still recommend cleaning up your startup processes
This is a pretty good site for doing that
Startup Program Loading
Before you mess with regedit
export the registry
File->Export and give it a name with the current date in it like registry02052006.reg

if something goes wingy just double click it and it will restore any entries that you delete

Battle scenes are where you need the most power
