Microsoft Planning Xbox Live Family Pack

With Kinect set to arrive this November, it's perhaps unsurprising to find that Microsoft is planning to launch an 'Xbox Live Family Pack', offering four Gold memberships for the price of two and a new 'Family Center' facility, which gives users a simpler way to adjust family settings and account details in one place.

Naturally, the Xbox Live Family Pack will launch at the same time as Kinect in November and will include the following family-tailored features:

* Up to four individual Xbox LIVE Gold memberships for the price of two – (US) $99.99.
* Family Center – a single, easy to use, destination for Family Settings and account management, accessible on the Xbox dashboard and on Xbox.com.
* The primary account member has the ability to purchase and dispense Microsoft Points to other Xbox LIVE Gold Family Pack members.
* Activity monitoring reports viewable on Xbox.com to help encourage discussions about safer more balanced gaming and entertainment habits.
* Simplified billing that applies all purchase charges to the primary account holder’s billing account and the ability to authorise purchases, helping to manage the family’s entertainment budget.
* Exclusive family content and discounts.

So, you'll be fully prepared to get the whole family involved when Kinect ships in November or alternatively you could try getting granny into Gears of War and Left 4 Dead.
Here.

Re: Microsoft Planning Xbox Live Family Pack

That sounds pretty cool. If it were possible to use those 4 gold memberships on one account then it's something I'd personally take advantage of! But Xbox Live isn't really a very family-oriented environment, if you ask me. When I played with friends it was great, when I played with randomers, then that's basically when I heard the majority of racial, sexist, homophobic and generally just unpleasant comments.

Re: Microsoft Planning Xbox Live Family Pack

Yeah especially on Modern Warfare 2. Majority players are 15 under, so to have little ones nearby, that would be bad.

You could adjust your family settings so you could only hear your friends. Although that's too complicated. Get this new and improved version for easy access to family settings!

Agreed, it's too complicated.

You can't weed out the jerks without shoving away the friendlies at the same time.
