I've been playing the Android Pocket Edition and I could easily get addicted.

Which version should I buy? Pocket, Xbox, or PC? Anyone got an opinion?

It is the greatest thing to come out of Sweden since ABBA.

Heck, it beats ABBA.

Get it on PC.

The pocket edition is a sorely neglected piece of software and is very limited in what is can do.

360 is a great port that is picking up steam with the consistency of its updates and is slowly catching up with the PC. However, due to hardware limitations, word sizes are restricted to 1000x1000 blocks.

PC is the full game, is update first (and very, very frequently), is completely mod-able, and can even be played on the website in browser without needing to download the game.

So... yeah. PC

One problem is that I was just trying to play the PC demo and my poor little laptop was crapping itself. Might be extenuating circumstances, but...

I'll admit that, after ten minutes of play, I kind of prefer the controls on my phone. Mostly because I'm not used to PC gaming.

If you're gonna do that, go for 360. You'll get more out of it with almost identical controls. Try the demo.

Pc for the best quality experience, the only downside I can think of is that if you aren't a Pc gamer it feels weird. But you'd get used to using the mouse and keyboard in an hour or so. Plus, I can run Minecraft on nothing more than an integrated graphics card. Laptops might be funky though like you said.It has all the servers too like raiding, creative etc. so more 'modes' to play in.

For Xbox Castle Miner Z is much more preferable, check out my thread I recently made: here

Fun Fact: Did you know you can make seven scale models of the Earth in Minecraft and still have plenty of room left to build?
