Modern Warfare 2 Tops 25 Million Uniques, Map Pack News Incoming

March 8, 2010 - Infinity Ward Community Manager Robert Bowling twittered that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has hit 25 million unique players online, which he says is "dominating" Call of Duty 4's numbers.

"That's 25 million unique across all platforms. Most on Xbox 360, then a close 2nd goes to PS3, will [sic] millions more on PC," Bowling wrote.

Bowling also said news regarding the anticipated first map pack is coming this week, with its release date being the first detail fans will hear. There will also be newer updates before the map pack hits.

"We'll be patching prior to DLC that will include the same matchmaking update for 360 that PS3 got, along with other updates."

Fix the matchmaking issues, exploits and enable party chat for team deathmatch and all would be well. Look forward to seeing the maps they choose to release but hope it isnt rubbish like the ones for CoD 4. Until then i shall be playing Dragon Age and BF BC 2 (just wish some friends would get it too so i can play online with people i know).

If it isn't free, and it has not got achievements, I'm out.

It is free but MW2 has never had any online achievements besides Spec Ops & neither did CoD 4.

How can you even play the game without friends? The people who play the game have no idea what "teamwork" means, nor how a squad is supposed to work. I have to play with friends or else I get destroyed because you have to solo the whole time because of those little anoying 10 year olds who don't know how to play.

How can you even play the game without friends? The people who play the game have no idea what "teamwork" means, nor how a squad is supposed to work. I have to play with friends or else I get destroyed because you have to solo the whole time because of those little anoying 10 year olds who don't know how to play.

Mainly the reason i havent touched the multiplayer yet, i prefer playing games with friends rather than randoms i meet in a match. Just want a handful of friends to get it so we can join a game together.
