Alright, so I'm a bit confused about gold.

Do you still earn money while you're offline like in II?

Does the 'skip to 2099' glitch still work?

Nope. They fixed that exploit by making it so you only receive money while you're actually playing the game.

You don't gain money when you are off line (as already stated) but you can always simply go afk for a while. If you have a rechargeable battery (thats charger plugs into the 360) or a wired controller you can just leave seeing as the controller will never turn off. Otherwise you need to come back and check every once in a while to make sure the controller didn't turn off. (Or just use a rubber band around the sticks to keep your character moving)
