My first experience...

Re: My first experience...

As long as my sister is happy...so cute. We sat down and she taught me what those big headed alien looking teenagers could do in a video game.

Re: My first experience...

Unfortunately, my girls like the bratz diamonds and bratz rock angels games, which i believe will be a bad influence in the fact that they will grow up to be superficial with a 'Passion For Fassion'. their mum isn't really too keen on them playing fable 2 either, because of the sexual references. but hey, there are worse things they would see on the 6 o'clock news, right?

Her grandmother thinks watching Snow White is too frightening for children - if she had her way, my kid would be dressed in a puffy white dress from the 1950's, a bow in her hair and rolling a hoop along the pavement outside

Since she started gaming she's doing better at school, has more concentration and faster reflexes as well as an improved ability to solve mental puzzles etc, so I'm all for her continuing with her games.

thats weird, i Look after my nephews ALOT because there mum is practically a drunk and when i let them play games and go to school, I Picked them up and their teacher told me they were concentrating enough in class. I asked them why when i took them home...They Where thinking about played the game again. And in game i mean saints row 1 and 2.

Re: My first experience...

My Little sister sometimes plays on my 360, a 7 year old girl who wants to kill aliens on halo, chase bandits and slice them up on fable, I've been told i'm a bad influence.. so i tried Letting her play "Girlish" Games.. but the second i go out the room. BAM! shes Back on halo or fable..
And to my surprise she isn't bad at halo either. i mean its not an easy game at all. and for her to hold her own against guys who play every day is awesome =] and fable, she likes running round with her puppy and killing the "Nasty Men Who Tookz My Money" as she poetically put.

Well I'm All for having more and more girl gamers, hopefully one day it won't be seen as such a shock to see a girl playing a video game.. or for guys to go "OMG A chick, wow thats awesome, maybe she will go in video chat and make my pants get all messy" but yeah..

:D
Happy Gaming.

Absolutely. In my view, TV has far worse available that kids can see...what used to only be permitted on television after 9pm is now on in the afternoon and that annoys me...

I am so glad my kid isn't into Bratz - I hate the little bobble-headed freaks, personally. I hate the whole clothes, makeup, enormous disposable income and basically everything about them. It's all bling this and crop-top that - if my kid even considered walking out of the house dressed like one of those plastic hookers I'd have her sectioned.

My kid knows the difference between reality and fiction and has no problem with shooting aliens in Halo/Mass Effect or planting claymores in COD4...she loves driving around in GTA and refuses to steal cars or shoot people, saying it's naughty to do that and you should ask politely before using someone's car (such an embarrassment, but what can you do?). If someone swears in a game she frowns and tells them off of using "naughty words"

She adores Fable and Fable 2 and quite frankly the things she has seen and heard when the two of us lived on a council estate are far worse than a couple of rent boys in Fable 2 asking the hero if he wants a good time...

I wish my missus would play games with me more often. she oves halo, and gets a little annoyed that she can't keep up with the boys. i tell her she needs to play more, but she struggles to find the time to play it. i was stoked when i found out about F2 being co-op, i thought, sweet, she can play it with me, but she seems to have no interest in it what-so-ever, but, the other hand, my daughters love it. they co-op with me, they have they're own profiles too. they even play fable 2 in the back yard. (they're only 9 and 6, pretending to be rose and sparrow, respectively). the way i see it, i'm helping to raise a generation of chick gamers, and i know they will be 'awsum sik pwners' when they grow up

Awwww! that is so cute! and i love the awsum sik pwners part :D

I don't think anyone cares if you are a girl or not, it is just arrogant to think that it matters at all. Games are games, and gamers are gamers, there is not difference

Also Fable II is hardly a hardcore game it is so simple, awesome yet simple.

That's no true, LOL when i play Halo and they see im a girl, or hear me speak they either A. Assume i cant play for sh*t or B. Try and hit on me lmao!

You're doing what all good parents should do - raising the next generation of gamers full stop. My kid's a pro on the N64 now and is getting the hang of things like Mass Effect, Fable, Oblivion and the occasional game of COD4. If her grandmother ever finds out I'm a dead woman :D

LOL!! How old is she? I think that is so cute!

She may not. I collected Barbies when I was a kid. True-Bratz make Barbie look like a nun. Anyways, I had a huge collection then I gave them up (should of kept my Flo Jo Barbie-would of made some money) and started playing Hexen with my brother.

Many of the younger ones may not know who Flo Jo was...or Hexen. Anyways, point is I went from barbies to getting excited when I got a head shot between the eyes.

Wasn't Flo Jo was an Olympic Athlete?
