So Tsuyu did your Xbox recover from the torture you put it through? Is it scared for life now? Will it make Fable TLC even more screwed up on it

Heh yeah. Gave it a day to rest, as I said, and it seems fine. But I don't think I will be trying to do this again in the near future!

So long as there is no external heat going onto the console and you dont leave it running for countless hours with something giving off heat next to it they are usually fine.

And I heard somewhere that using one voids your warranty as it is "using non-Microsoft devices to alter the blah blah blah" or some legal mumbojumbo.

But I have one for extreme cases, and you bet I used it for this 14 hours session.

They used to say that yeah, but that was because certain models of fans were faulty and they were melting to the Xbox 360 frying the ports and chips. That wouldnt have happened without the fan there to it voided warranty. However with new models of fan that issue has been resolved and theres no way for Microsoft to know you used one so no voiding of warranty.

I didnt mean like that^^ i meant just opening up the side and putting a fan outside the 360':P Much less dangerous, and since the fan isnt actually built into the 360' i think the warranty still holds(Microsoft sells custom shells for the 360' so if you have one of these you are allowed to open/close to switch the shells^^).

I think opening the 360 up would void warranty also, unless you get a trained person to do it at a shop to fit a new 'skin' for it. Opening side and putting fan there would cause more problems than it solved as the fan would blow dust directly into the 360, thats what the grills are for on the sides (to let air in and out with minimal dust going in).

Hah yeah, now I remember. Plastic contacts - not a smart idea! Basicly it melted both itself and the power input of the 360, and got stuck to your 360. However, I soon discovered I got the "EX" version, with metal a contact(oddly enought it aint black, but original 360 white as the old, faulty model).
