Re: my wishlist and ideas
Yeah, I want to be able to loot fallen enemies for armor and weapons, too. In 1 and TLC you sometimes got money or food, but that wasn't enough.
I'm not really sure about alignment effects. I mean, if you kill somebody and rob their corpse, it's still theft. Even the way it was in 1 and TLC. I mean, if you get mugged and kill the person who jumped you, you don't get to sort through their belongings to see what you want. Maybe they could make it so it's half a evil point? Or maybe you could go find your opponents widows and orphans to give the money to and get good points, I don't know. Of course, it is a videogame, so you could just say "screw that, don't let it affect my alignment because I hate spending money."
But yeah, Zingo: it wouldn't make it unbalanced. I mean, yeah, you could pick up a bunch of weapons and clothing and sell them, but you aren't (at least in 1 and TLC) usually fighting rich, well-equipped people. Usually we were fighting bandits or hobbes, neither of which had what seemed to be exceptionally valuable or high-class weapons and armor/clothing. You'd only be getting really good stuff when, say, you took on Twinblade or Maze or somebody (characters of similar power and equipment and wealth in 2, at least). Or if you ran into some random rich, well-equipped bandit.
