But yeah letting other online players see its name would be cool

I would call my dog Bob, or Betty!
but the idea of naming your own dog is cool, like my esteemed colleague ScareCrowReturn's says for the online experience alone it would be brill!

im pretty sure i read something somewhere that it said the dog will only be called "dog" and that although you can rename NPC's you can not name your dog....not sure though

I am still going to name my dog. He's my best friend, and I won't just call him dog. Besides in coop, I can call him the name, I name him. I'm beginning to like coop.:)
