New suffixes for websites maybe.

My library branches suck ALOT, rarely any of the books I am interested in, practically no biographies, no audio books, and they don't even have "The Hobbit" *sigh*

So I have to make an extra ten minute drive to a different county sometimes for a book I want.

Poor baby. A ten minute drive? Come on, most libraries have ILL of one kind or another. Just ask the librarian to order it for you if you're too lazy.

I find it hard to believe that any library on earth doesn't have the Hobbit. My library is tiny, and they have two in J fiction (one a big illustrated version), three in classics, and on in the teen sci-fi. I would just guess you're not looking in the right place.

Believe it ;)

And it does suck to drive ten minutes because I can't do the driving for another six months, I find it better just to download a book PDF.

Wait, wait, audio books? You need someone to read a book for you? Lazy ass.
No Mein Kampf? Plenty of online resources for the Hitler Youth.
No driver's license? Thank God.

Ever tried being nice? And I recall you and Walker having a discussion on Audio Books that wasn't very hostile.

I also find humor in you believing me to be a Nazi while you yourself are being intolerant and generally not nice.

But it had to do with the narrator, not with whether or not the lack of audio books in a library is reason enough not to go.

That part was a joke though. Thought you'd catch that.

There were more reasons than that but I see your point.

Jokes do not transfer well through non verbal communication, it's all good though.

I don't. I'm sorry, I deal with library patrons all day. I assume you're all ignorant, stupid, lying, or a combination of the above, and it usually works out pretty well. (Yes, I'm an asshole. But I'm Ujoking! I swear! And there's nothin wrong with ignorance if you rectify it.)

At least tell me you aren't PAYING for the ebook? Please? www.baen.com/library/titles.htm Aside from that, your library almost certainly offers digital audiobook and ebook checkouts. Mine does, so do all the libraries bordering my system. Admittedly an isolated sample, but I suspect yours or a nearby one does as well.

BITE me, *****. It's a disgrace I've only actually read something like five books in the last few months. School is actually cutting into my reading time. ****ing college. The only reason I've gotten any books in is audiobooks. What ever happened to a book a day keeps the nromal people away?

We did? When?

Re: New suffixes for websites maybe.

Oooh, that's right, because Stephen Fry narrated Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

I think you're being needlessly critical of audiobooks (probably of Firis, too, but whatever). I, personally, don't like audiobooks as much as actual books. But some people do. There's no real quantifiable difference, beyond the fact that actual reading develops your spelling and ****.

And no, the reason I do like audiobooks is because you can "read" them while driving. I tried doing that with actual books and it didn't go over well.

And I no longer have any idea what this thread is actually supposed to be about. Oops?

Re: New suffixes for websites maybe.

I disagree. Audiobooks, storytellers, old time radio plays, all of those kinda fall under the same heading. Are they exactly the same as books? No, they're different mediums, different experiences. But the only reason I read is to hear a story. You can get that lots of ways, and while there IS a difference depending on what way you get it, I don't think there's a qualitative difference.

I lied in my last post. There is an easily quantifiable difference. Just not in quality. Think of it as a really elaborate typo.

You wouldn't bother to frequent any library I'm sure. Even if you tried, the librarian 'wewd' probably kick you out.
lol they did one time for reading a bewk online, comps have 30min time limit there so kids can play gaiaonline.

I call BULL****. If your library is too small for you, there is almost certainly a bigger library within thirty minutes of where you live. In all likelihood, part of the same library system, though that's not as certain/likely.

Seriously. People always underestimate their local libraries.
there isnt another library, or town for that matter for another 30miles. My skewl does have better bewks but you need a pass to go in and no class wewd give you a pass except special reading classes.

My friend just lent me this bewk "Mothmen" or man its about religion and conspiracies of aliens, right up my corner:lol:
