Blunderbusses might have inspired shotguns but they don't have anything in common.

Except their core design and concept, as well as ammo type is exactly the same? Blunderbusses are shotguns of the time period Fable II takes place.

Its like saying we don't have pistols neither, because a flintlock pistol isn't as much a pistols as a modern day magnum or desert eagle.

every gun back then worked the same way:

Powder + Bullet + stock + trigger pull = bang

They just left out the the loading mechanism in fable II... kind of a shame actually

Blunderbusses were loaded with lots of tiny pellets á la shotguns. Flintlock rifles/pistols fired a single projectile like today's rifles/pistols.

Re: New types of weapons

I want a REAL shotgun, like those double barreled thingies.

Re: New types of weapons

Blunderbuss WAS a REAL shotgun. of that time period.
I 2 also want a double barrel shotgun , but one with hydroshock bullets dat Mush room in peeps brain.

Might as well wish for a laser rifle or lightsaber then!

Hells yeah, like the one my paladin had in WoW! :D

Re: New types of weapons

and i know that katanas are from samarkand i meant an extra import.
And blunderbusses are like a hybrid shotgun and musket, it looks a lot ike a musket, and is good in close range like a musket.

Re: New types of weapons

No they are like shotguns. They got this trumpet-shaped muzzle in order to spread the pellets which would make shooting accurately with any other form of ammo impossible.

Just give me a wizardly staff with a bright sparkling top and I'll be a happy camper.

A staff have a knob on the end?

What Tsuyu said. I would get into the argument, but playing sycophant is easier and he didn't say anything I wouldn't. Mostly.

Re: New types of weapons

a spear type class of weapons would be cool, oooh ooh and summons like a wolf and some more jobs, if its based a round the 1700s you should be like a soldier and go to war with people that would be cool. and better multiplayer

Re: New types of weapons

I would hate to see the following in Fable III: Knives, Daggers, Scimitar, Flails, scythes, Poison Weapons, Nunchucks, and Throwing Knives.

What would I want? Fists. Dual wield (maybe), Obsidian and another type of weapon (meaning like obsidian, master etc)

Re: New types of weapons

in the time period fable 3 takes place in. it really makes absolutely no sense to have spears >.> if its truly in the king age of castles. it would probably have like armour O.O...
just an idea of course :o

Re: New types of weapons

yeah schythes would be cool (thing that grim reaper has for innocent voice).
and the ability to hack off someones head.
i say kill!

Re: New types of weapons

i miss the regular bows. i hate cross bows. i think spears, numchucks, throwing stars...would just be silly.

Re: New types of weapons

I'd actually like to see compound bows in the next game. Bow hunting was still popular back in the old days as far as I know, and if that were the case, it wouldn't be the first time a weapon has appeared in Fable that wasn't intended to be a weapon of war. (Cleavers in Fable II were clearly meant to, you know, cleave meat. The overall shape coupled with their descriptions supports this.)

just want to say that the trumpet shape did nothing to help the spread but most people thought it did so smart weapon smiths gave their blunderbuses musket shapes and slapped a trumpet on the end

Re: New types of weapons

Maybe a very primitive automatic rifle? I mean, it's like half a century after flintlock and clockwork rifles etc. so maybe an automatic repeater?
