Nintendo are playing a dangerous game with Youtube video creators again as no more Youtube videos of Nintendo products can be uploaded without going through their affiliate program which will take 1/3rd of the revenue for the video.

Boogie2988 explains it best in his video

Not sure they hate YouTube so much as they just love money. And milking the creative content licenses for their products.

Cutting off their noses to spite their face, all those streamers and Youtubers are giving them free publicity. They have paid for the console and the games, they shouldnt be forced to lose revenue for their videos too.

I'm not saying it's right or I like it. I don't.

They may have the power but they're definitely abusing it. It's especially bad because the uploaders could probably use the cash far more than company worth $18.4 billion and also worth more than Sony.

Lots of YouTubers have decided against streaming ANY Nintendo footage of games after this move and have dedicated their channels to all of the other platforms instead.

I'm sure YouTubers will welcome the new profit sharing policy.

LOL

For 'Let's Plays' and stuff I can foresee a ton of backlash, but don't reviews and such fall under 'Fair Use'? I can imagine that many YouTubers would attempt to masquerade their videos as videos if it meant they would be exempt from the scheme, if this were the case.
