I have an N64 that i've...

Stepped on; dropped off a Bed; spilled unknown liquids on...

So, after all that abuse, it still runs Zelda:0OT and Zelda:MM
PERFECTLY.Even my Ps2 (The tiny little miniature version) that i've dropped innumerable times still runs fine.I kepy my Xbox 360 nice'n clean, didn't drop it, bare ever touched it, so why hasn't bill gates, the guy who can literally SWIM in his money, still hasn't fixed the Xbox's to keep'em from breaking.Guess he just hasn't found a good enough monkey yet.

But they do it on purpose so that you buy more repairs and bits & Pieces..

Anyway, I weep for you. Im on my forth xbox myself. :getlost:

Electronics today are disigned to become obsolete or break ASAP, some within a year or two, and others just a few months. others are just disigned to be built as cheeply as posible and sold for as much as they can get away with. its part of all the corporate BS that runs the world today.

Im gonna force myself to stop now befor I go off on a rant abou the ****ing politics and corporations and conspiracy stuff.

The RROD was mainly caused by a cheap and crappy soldering job on the circuits by certain places that manufactured them. Mostly overheating that causes the solder to peel away slightly, it was worked out and solutions were found by the modding community. Microsoft know the issue and have found a fix, however lots of old models and chipsets are still in circulation, just so happened that you probably had one. Some of the newer ones can also RROD though if stored incorrectly such as in the following pic in TJ Griffins gallery (probably why you have had it so often).

How Not To Store Your 360

No air can escape or circulate from it and it will cause big overheating issues. Ive had RROD once and my 360 was stored by a radiator for 3 years (only reason being i had no space to put it anywhere else). Since then its been moved and ive never had 1 single problem with it.

My 360 is now stored in a nice area where it can breath and I havnt had any more problems. the one in that picture died again after I got it fixed so I ended up replacing it and its been fine so far. My first 360 stoped reading disks the day I brought it home, thats why Im on my 4th.

Man that pic makes me feel dumb.

I kept mine on a very clutter free table, I treated the Xbox like a glass baby...With cancer...And Leprosey.Laying down on it's side, and my Xbox was in my Den, and it's a pretty cool place.(Temperature wise, AND the "AWESOME" way too).I never touched it except for to wipe away any Amassed dust with a little soft cloth (I had even started constructing a canopy for my Xbox, to prevent Dust gathering).So it was probably the first option.I don't get many nice things (Me being the middle kid....F***ING HAND-ME-DOWNS)

referred to it as, "My baby".

Yeah Iv got an elite. Its an elite with a white body now (had to replace the xbox, kept the harddrive or whatever the thingy is on the top). She is also my baby, and as I said befor, she is in a much safer place now. Im the oldest in the family and I have my own personal controller that if touched by someone else, they die. everyone knows this. I have a special crappy controller with sticky buttons (I blame my brother for it) that guests have to use (and one other good controller for my freinds, brothers freinds may not use it. the newest controller is always mine!). You do NOT want to get caught using my baby without my permission. and you definetly do NOT want to EVER be caught using MY controller. My brothers little friend who nearly lost a hand that one time can attest to that.

hey, whats the safest position to put the xbox in? horizontal or verticle? lol that sounds so wrong....

Not sure, But I think I read somewhere that things are safer on the horizon.
I have a black elite controlly named Sheggorath (You non-Khajiit people may know him as "Sheogorath" or "Skooma cat")he is my second baby.

I got my 360 on the week of the release in 2006, it rrod'd once, about 10 months after i got it, and it's been fine since it was repaired. i find it's better to keep them horizontal than vertical for better cooling.

no. when my xbox died it was like some epic move where the main heros lover dies cuz the bad guy killed her and he was to late to save her.

The week my 360 rrod'd, i dropped my ipod, and my PC motherboard crapped it's self. It was a was a Bad Bad Week. I lost 3 of my best buddies in one week!!!

Geez, Bill Gates doesn't even run Microsoft anymore!
And Microsoft is top of the line! (For now days anyway) you can't compare an old system to a new one, because it used to be about the customers enjoyment, so the N64 will never break evar! Muahahahaha! Today its still about the customer enjoying it as much as possible, but its also now about putting a little timed explosive in your 360 that explodes the day after your warranty expires.

Like my PS and PS2's lasers dying on me and getting disc read errors with all games 1 week after warranties expiring. Had to purchase another 2 in both cases, though my PS still worked sometimes if i turned it upside down. :lol:
