moonfever;285125 said:Really, I am wondering if someone got fired over the shody mess?
Dark Drakan;285131 said:Im sure many people were fired over the whole thing. It has been the cause of so many problems for Microsoft and also tarnished their reputations. Microsoft who are already a hated company by many did themselves no favours with the whole thing. The 360 is an excellent console and i love mine, easily one of my favourite consoles of all time with its excellent choice in games. However the RROD is now what its best known for and also the ammo for all the fanboys out there and it was totally avoidable. Its a shame such an issue is what the console will be remembered for as opposed to everything it does right.

I love my Xbox 360, it'll be hard to wait for it, as I am quite addicted to Bioshock and Oblivion...But the one i'll miss the most is Dead Rising.
I know it'll be back soon but....Just sucks.

come to think of it, we have an N64 that also still functions just fine and god knows how much its been abused over the years. I miss my super nintendo (for some reson taken from me when we got the N64 :'( ) I used to be a stupid little brat (about 8-10 years old) that would get ****ed off and throw down the controller, hit the poor console and stuff like that whenever I got frustrated with a game and those things always were able to take the punishment. a 360 wouldnt stand a chance with 10 year old me. they just dont make em like they used to, ya know?
truth.Dark Drakan;285090 said:The RROD was mainly caused by a cheap and crappy soldering job on the circuits by certain places that manufactured them. Mostly overheating that causes the solder to peel away slightly, it was worked out and solutions were found by the modding community. Microsoft know the issue and have found a fix, however lots of old models and chipsets are still in circulation, just so happened that you probably had one. Some of the newer ones can also RROD though if stored incorrectly such as in the following pic in TJ Griffins gallery (probably why you have had it so often).
How Not To Store Your 360
No air can escape or circulate from it and it will cause big overheating issues. Ive had RROD once and my 360 was stored by a radiator for 3 years (only reason being i had no space to put it anywhere else). Since then its been moved and ive never had 1 single problem with it.

lol very debatableDark Drakan;285608 said:Also no lasers to burn out or disc trays to break which stopped a lot of issues. However cartridge game development was a much to slow process and therefore the N64 was killed off by the Playstation.

ps had the upper hand in graphics...but i would still argue that the N64 was a better system
