here they expensive enough in that I cant afford one, I also find it stupid to have to buy a hdtv just so I can play a game.

Do the fable 2 dev's have a commision contract with hdtv manufacturers?

Welcome to the 21th centuary (sp?)

No its just common place to design games in the most optimal resolutions to get the best textures and looks out of the titles these days. Its happened with a decent amount of titles and more and more will start following suit soon.

Re: Normal TV's not working?!

Well my thoughts on this are probably around half the population (in my country, uk) have a hdtv and then those who do have one probably only have it in living room and may well have smaller older tv's been used for games consoles. So although hdtv's are the latest games shouldnt be developed solely for them.

Take crisis on the pc, they made that mistake developed it with dx10 solely in mind and the highest end graphics cards and it flopped, I know with pc gaming games are developed so they work on low end and high end, with configuration in game to allow to adjust. I just think it would have been fairly simple to have an option to change text size and alignment to suit the player's needs.

Dark Drakan what you described is what I think is a problem with the modern games industry, it always puts graphics first.

so obviously serenade youve got it was was it worth the wait

Patches can be released for games, if necessary. You have to connect to Xbox Live and play the game though.

Nearly every person i know old enough to buy one has a HDTV now.

Re: Normal TV's not working?!

I have a 56 inch SDTV and I'm waiting for a price drop so I don't have to settle for a smaller screen. =( I can't stand people that tease for not having HD. Some people can't afford it or just don't want it.

Re: Normal TV's not working?!

Um...I have a normal, non-HDTV.......ANd the game looks fine on it >_>. No text boxes flying off the screen or anything.

Weird.

Re: Normal TV's not working?!

Guys, just use your computer moniter, microsoft sells 30 dollar xbox vga cable and you can hook it up to your moniter, bam cheap HD!

Re: Normal TV's not working?!

well I just read the entire VERY long bugs thread on the official lionheart forums. According to people on there this problem is also affecting some hdtv's. Health bar of top of screen etc. and yeah the fact this thread exists is evidence alone significant people dont use hdtv's.

If the problem exists for me when I play it I probably will play it on my monitor, at least buying a vga cable is affordable rather than buying a hdtv.

Re: Normal TV's not working?!

Mmmkay, now I'm sure it's not a HDTV problem, but some other far more obscure issue.

Re: Normal TV's not working?!

another twist to the tale.

On my CRT I see all the text and I see the health bar, the only bit cutoff seems to be the bottom of the screen as the bottom icon for the dpad stuff is a bit cutoff.

My complaint tho is the same as I am seeing in other 360 games, text is damn hard to read (too small) and when you see a button icon eg. if it tells you what button to use, I cant make out what the button is. Whilst in xbox games it is very clear and fine. So I will read the manual and hope that tells me all the controls, and have to sit close to the tv to make out the text. The health bar looks very tiny, I can barely make it out and cant tell if I have lost health or not since it is so small. The problem seems to be related to the higher resolution, it seems developers are deciding to shrink things in accordance with the smaller pixels.

Reference to the argument on how many people have large hdtv's I think a good source of information is youtube, watch videos showing people play 360 games and the vast majority of them are on small to medium sized crt's.

Re: Normal TV's not working?!

I play on a 27" SDTV, with component cables. Works perfect for me, can read the text just fine, and the game still looks good, despite the fact it's not pumping X-TREME RAW HI-DEF GRAPHICZ. We have an HDTV in our living room, but it suffers from dreaded "gaming lag." And I prefer to play in my room anyway.

I wish people would quit telling other folks to "get with the times" when SDTVs are still completely capable of doing the job.
