I don't think anyone was actually comparing both games, just stating what made them good and what elements Fable could use, or at least I was.
BleedingBlue04; I agree, I loved Fable for it's lightsided humour, Oblivion was very serious, and also repetative with the Planes of Oblivion, was I the only person to get annoyed at this?

Boy, I get annoyed at a lot of things, don't I...

The Planes of Oblivion were always a little different but they were always pretty hard until I got my guy real strong. They did annoy me though. What else annoyed me is after I beat the main quest I couldn't go back to Oblivion. I mean I understand the story line and all but still!! Shivering Isles was really good though. Really liked it.

Re: oblivion + fable 2

Yeah, and they were still on the map, too, weren't they? You just couldn't get to them.
I never played the expansion packs, I would've loved to but I never saw them for the 360. Were they just on the PC?
I'd love the PC version, all the awesome mods you can get -- some of them just blew me away.

But if I did, I think my computer would protest against me and break down, refusing to turn itself back on.
:]

No, the expansions are on Xbox live for d/l. that's what I played it all on. I know there are a lot of mods for Oblivion on the PC but I don't know any of them. If you need something to take up time until Fable 2 comes out, you could get Shivering Isles. It's pretty short but really fun. The world looks entirely different than the normal world, and you get new weapons, armor, and spells. A bunch of new stuff. A sweet sword too.

Re: oblivion + fable 2

Honestly I'm not sure. Probably $10 worth of points. Worth it though. Plus 250 more possible gamer points to get through achievements.

Re: oblivion + fable 2

Oh, so not that bad then. I've still yet to purchase any points, to be honest with you. I really should. And I really need to get my points up, but the games I have, say GTA for example, just doesn't let me get anymore than I have because I hate one mission in particular.
T_T;
Luckily for me, I liked Oblivion and trying to get all the Acheivements, so all the better.

Re: oblivion + fable 2

I think the Shivering Isles update is currently 2100Ms points

Re: oblivion + fable 2

I wish I knew how much that actuall was in GBP (£).

Re: oblivion + fable 2

Erm, if MS points are $20 for 1600 then it's probably somewhere around £10 for 1600 for you guys. Or they could be more accurate and make it £8? I don't know. Everything seems more expensive for you guys because they don't balance it properly. Conversion is like £2.2 to the dollar or something right? Damnit I need to get out of this country....

Re: oblivion + fable 2

Conversion, last time i checked, was the other way, it was like $2 to the pound but i did check it about 3 months ago so meh. Also 100Ms points is approximately £0.80

Re: oblivion + fable 2

Haha, I wish I could get to Philly again. Everything seems so cheap! Apart from the tax being added at the tills, that always annoys me.
On a site here (Play.com) the prices are as follows:
2100 = £16.99
4200 = £32.99

To me that seems really overpriced. Is it just me?

Re: oblivion + fable 2

Well considering that Shivering Isles is 2100 and it could just about pass as a new game i don't think it's overpriced...

I'm stupid, forget I said anything, it's early for me..... I reread my old post and it was making sense until I said 2.2 pounds to the dollar. Yes, flip that around. 2.2 dollars to the pound.

That is true, but then again, I wouldn't want to spend £17 for it and not be able to get anything else, but considering it's a game in itself, then I suppose it's worth it.

I was also wondering, what in all is in Shivering Isles? I mean, I know it's an expansion pack, but-- is there another part of the map or something? Forgive me if I'm seeming a little dumb on the subject.

Oh, it is?
How many points is it? x_o
I think - if the market place sale is still on - it's been cut to 1200 points for a while...

You can get 2100 for about £15 from Tesco and Zavvi (well, you could three days ago anyway) but I've not seen them cheaper anywhere else...

You get a whole other world to explore unlike the other add-ons where you just get a new quest or building. You have a new main quest as well as lots of side quests and I actually found the main one of Shivering Isles better than the Oblivion one...you can switch between Shivering Isles and regular Oblivion whenever you like via a magic door and whatever weapons/armour/items you get in one place you can carry into the other - apart from your horse. I haven't tried getting my Adoring Fan from the Arena or members of guilds I control to follow me into the Shivering Isles yet so I don't know if they can join me or not.

So yeah - enter the Shivering Isles and a whole new map becomes available with new towns, camps, ruins etc to explore. And a whole bunch of crazy people and new monsters to boot :D Well worth getting and adds a further 250 points worth of achievements to be snapped up.

Re: oblivion + fable 2

The only thing I would take from Oblivion for Fable 2 is the depth.

And yeah, Sheogorath FTW. They could have made him crazier. I would have liked to walk into his throne room and seen something different from him sitting there every time. Like him getting Haskil to piggy back him around the throne room just for fun, or him just throwing a BBQ and wearing a comical apron and chefs hat.

I should write for Bethesda.
