oblivion help!!!!!!!!!

ok, im re earning my acheivments for oblivion and i have a problem i hope someone can help with.

i have just finnished the theives guild quest where you get the boots of springhill jak. and now my indipendent theivory wont update so i can move on to the ultimate higst. i have fenced over 6000 gold worth of stolen goods, so thats not the problem. it still says i have reached my goal of 800, but it wont move on to the next goal. and iv waited many days in the imperial city and nobody gives me a message from the gray fox. can someone help me?

Have you talked to all the thieves guild dudes? Fences, beggars?

This has happened to me before and it's a pain - I've also had it where I've fenced so much that I have both the beginning parts and the end parts of the whole Thieves Guild questline running at the same time...even when I finish it, Armand Christophe is still asking me for the Tax records...

One thing I have tried which sometimes works and sometimes doesn't is to visit that house in Bruma where the Gray Fox seems to be...sometimes he is waiting there already. If the owner of the house is outside with a torch then the Gray Fox should be there too...like I say, doesn't always work.

Other than that speak to Skrivva and Armand to ask for Thieve's Guild Special jobs. When they turn you down that may trigger Methedrel (sp?) or whoever to come and message you.

duh! i found the gray fox, but that idiot is still in the house in chedinhal and when i talk to him he says "not now, im thinking". and talking to skrevva and armand didnt do anything either. and neither did going on a rampage and attacking other members of the theifs guild. >.<

Have you tried staying next to him and opting to wait for 24 hours? Might trigger it?
