Ok really guys?

There is like 5 post of people complaining about the new DLC release of Knothole island. For one the thing is not very expensive. 2 its somthing to do sure there will be problems with it, its a new release dont expect so much its not a sequel like Fable 3 or anything. Why dont you just play the game?

Re: Ok really guys?

Main issues so far seem to be glitch related and although some glitches can escape the testers attention there seems to be a large list already from what ive seen. Hopefully they arent as common as they are seeming or if they turn out that way then i hope they are patched soon. Games or content riddled with glitches just isnt acceptable and especially when they have been delayed to iron them out. People are welcome to their opinion but shouldnt moan too much about the content of a first piece of DLC agreed but they are within their rights to moan about or bring up news of glitches and errors.

Re: Ok really guys?

I know that but its a little bit non sense its DLC cant really expect it to be perfect. And im sure give it a week or so and glitches will be gone

Not perfect no as nothing is really but shouldnt be having errors such as it deleting saves or quite large glitches going unnoticed. I mean errors like that wouldnt have been acceptable back in the older generation of gaming, so we shouldnt expect them these days and they shouldnt be common place.

Re: Ok really guys?

I know but i think there should be flexibility to certain things if you bought it than just give it some time. I know that they shouldnt have major glitches but its a game :D

Flexibility yes but game breaking glitches and deleted saves is a big no no. Had a phone call from my friend Matt the other day and he had put lots of time into the game. Only to have a major glitch and it totally ruined his game. Loaded to a blank screen everytime he loaded his save. He looked it up online and lots of people were having the same problem so he refuses to start again and told me hes getting rid of it. This was his introduction to Fable and the 360 so he wasnt happy.

Im a Lionhead fan of course and ive supported their games for a long time but some of these glitches and errors that have been overlooked are becoming troublesome. I know they said they had more or less fixed all the glitches before game went gold but its evident that they overlooked lots of things. I think they should take some more due care and attention into vigorously testing things before they go gold (even more so). As it causes them to be sent angry comments, disappoint people and also create more work for us here answering all these technical and glitch questions and queries. More and more companies are getting away with releasing glitch ridden and buggy games and i think more need to properly take lots of time ironing these out. I know they worked exceptionally hard on the game and all hours of the day until who knows what time but seems lots of huge errors still made it into the game.

Re: Ok really guys?

I agree they shouldnt release a game if its that glitchy. But allot of people were anticipating this. I think they should of just set a later release date.

They did, it got delayed from Dec until now to fix the technical issues but judging from early posts it seems even that didnt sort them all. Maybe the glitches arent so bad, i dont know having not played it. However seems strange so many are already reporting them and lots are saying the same things.

Re: Ok really guys?

Still peeved I lost all of my saved data. Every file.
So lame.

Re: Ok really guys?

Really it's battle the can't win, just endure. Holding back the content even further would have sparked limitless hate mail and even those pitiful threats hitting Molyneux. They wanted to make their customers happy buy passing outt he goods now, but because it's so buggy people moan and complain and once more send hate mail and threatening letters. I feel bad for Lionhead, to be honest. I'd never wanna deal with this crap.

Mayby they released the beta version :D
The problem is that they didn't. If they had released a beta version then they could have sorted out some of these bugs. The problem with betas is that the content ends up getting spilled all over the web.

I'm not having any issues with it so far but I've only just cleared the first shrine.
I think it's great :w00t:

Re: Ok really guys?

I didn't have any problems with it, and now have all the achievements. It's really been a whole lot of fun, in my game.

Re: Ok really guys?

I just don't think im going to buy it. From the posts it seems it is overpriced for what you get and although there is some kewl apparel the quests take an hour to complete and knothole is tiny so yah i wnt be buyng it.

Re: Ok really guys?

Knothole Island is really just a content DLC cause its short not much on the island but you get some good weapons and some cool armor so i think its pretty much good i didnt have any problems with it either.

Re: Ok really guys?

well...i can say that personally i haven't encountered a single glitch or problem with knothole island. As far as my experience goes it's a good addition to fable 2. :)

1. Not very expensive? Considering the price cost me 12 something for gamer points, for only an hour of time, thats expensive. Im not rich, i have to work for this money, and 12 dollars for an hour does not suit it.

If you multiply that, lets say, by 5 hours, that would equal 60 dollars. About as much as a new game costs. New games last days, weeks, possibly months. If Fable related quality would of been the same, that would have lasted 5 hours. So don't tell me that it 'didn't cost that much' - I disagree whole heartedly.

Something too do, yes, I support Fable but they could have done x10 better, and they should have waited about 5 more months so it could have been worthwhile, look at Oblivion expansions, they last days...

I did play the game, and finished within an hour and 12 minutes. Yes i timed it. And i really don't think i will be going back on DLC or Fable 2 for a very long time. If i do, it won't be DLC, only thing worthwhile in that entire thing is clothing or achievements(Which i got done). So, blah.

This is my opinon, obviously, it was not worth 12 dollars.

the fact that you spent those 12 dollars on DLC suggests it was not going towards something necessary such as rent or living expenses. you had 12 to burn and i think that with all of the trading and additional achievements and whatnot, it was well worth 12 dollars.

ok...so by that principle if you were to multiply 60 by 5 again you could afford to buy 5 games. so which would you prefer? 5 games or 1? they did release a free version of the DLC so that you could try it and tag along with a friend. you CHOSE and were not FORCED to pay up front. you could very easily have decided to try the free version and that is on you.

unfortunately for lionhead, fable attracts a much younger audience than oblivion because it's much more player friendly among other things. i really think that if lionhead had waited another 5 months their building would have been stormed by xbox live 8-year-olds wielding torches and pitchforks. It's easy to say in retrospect, but i think that what came out was acceptable...

Again...there was a free version available which you chose not to sample...so thats on you

i recognize this as your opinion and i respect that :D

Re: Ok really guys?

glitches can escape the testers attention
if i was a game maker/tester and i was working looooong hours every monday- friday i would choose to ignore them =D well when you get past all the glitches and such knothole island can be really good, especially with the new weapons and augment remover, it adds more of an edge to the Fable world
