Opinions on the Radeon 5870 / 5970 GPU

Hi folks,

I'm looking to upgrade my graphics card to either the Radeon 5870 or just throw caution to the wind and upgrade to the beastly Radeon 5970. I'm currently using a Radeon 5770 but Amazon has offered to grant me a full refund for it so I'm inclined to have it sent back and put the money towards either the 5870 or 5970.

I've read tons and tons of reviews and checked out plenty of benchmark results on both the 5870 and 5970 GPUs but I'd love to hear what you guys think of 'em, if you're using either that is. I'd also like to point out that I did consider going with a 5770 CrossFire configuration instead of buying a new 5870 but according to reviews, I reckon I'd be better off with a single 5870 or 5970 config and perhaps CrossFire one of those further down the line. Anyone here feel the 5970 is worth the obscene price tag?

So, yeah, opinions? tl;dr: Anyone currently using the 5870 or 5970 GPUs?

I also can`t say anything from my own experience, but I could ask from another forum for some information.

I own the 5970, it's the best graphics card I've ever had. With support for DirectX 11 it's a blast to play games with. Especially DiRT 2, STALKER, Crysis, and Source games. I would recommend it to anyone looking for an all out stutter free gaming experience.

I own one right now, its good but it wasn't worth the money
Of course thats considering that a week after i got the card i stopped playing online computer games haha.
