Optimised Weapon

ok im new to Fable 2 but what is the optimum setup for a single melee weapon to deal the most damage the fatsest. Like I know weapons like katanas have a swing speed of fast and if it has like 70 attack with fast thats seems to be more preferable over 70 attack slow. Also include any augmentations or combinations of them (I dont know if you can stack them)Also if some legendary weapon out there is the best overall please excuse my ignorance to its existance Im no that far in the game yet. Remember all I care about is the most attack delt over the shortest amount of time, I dont care about augmentations that give defensive bonuses plus offensive bonunses if there is an augmentation that gives just bit more attack and no defensive bonus but one that gives a little bit less but a huge defensive bonus I dont care I want someone to do the math on the weapons and come up with the most "offensive" setup.

-Thanks-

haveing multiple of the same augs on the same wep has no effect

Soo sad..
You could stack the effect in the first Fable :O

Re: Optimised Weapon

It's almost impossible to say what melee weapon would put out the most damage because there is no way to measure swing speed. Is a Slow weapon half as fast as a Fast one, or 60% as fast? 40% as fast?

The only way to figure it out would be to get a Master type of each weapon with no augments and run tons and tons of tests measuring how long each one took to kill the same enemy. Once you have enough data, you can average the times to see which one dealt the most damage, and then add 4 damage enhancing augments to it.

As far as augments go, again there is no good way to tell exactly how much damage they add. The best choices for damage would probably be Devastation, Double Edged, Luck and Skill, and Lucky Charm. These are the highest ranked augments that either only add damage, or have the fewest additional positive effects.

The rationale behind this is that for an equally ranked augment, I would assume that the more *other* effects you have, the less powerful the +damage effect would be. Conversely, if an augment has a negative effect added on, the +damage effect is probably stronger. An example is the "Luck and Life" and "Luck and Skill" augments. Because both of these augments are equally ranked and do the same thing, except the Luck and Life augment also drains life, I would guess that it adds less total damage and defense. If true, this would mean the Double Edged augment is probably the most powerful in terms of pure damage (deals extra damage, but has a negative effect, and yet is ranked as high as a Devastation augment - means the bonus damage must be better).

Of course, none of that can be proven. Your best bet is to use the one you like the best, and add the augments that you think are the best.

Guns are a different story, because reload times are actual numbers that you can use. Based on their data, the most efficient gun to use in conjunction with a melee weapon or spells is a Master Turret Rifle (Master Clockwork rifle for pure Skill users).

See here for that data: http://forums.projectego.net/gun-types-damage-calculations-special-cases-12753/

That thread doesn't include crossbows, because I don't like crossbows.

Re: Optimised Weapon

I use the sexy scar augment, it's a hit with the women, and some men

Re: Optimised Weapon

Yeah I know how that is with running tests I used to play a RTS game called Homeworld 2 for PC religiously (over 6 thousand games) and games last on average more than 30 mins. We labbed the hell out of that game and then when they released the development tools using the maya script for modders we felt like we had been handed the Bible of homeworld. there it was every variable, every Ai response to certain combat conditions and situations. For those of us who learned the development tools not to mod but to comprehend the game better quickly became the top 5 players on the Homeworld 2 ladder which isnt official since it was run by the community, but it was the only ranking system we had. And yes at one time I was #1. I know Homeworld2 wasnt a big game with a mass of competitors but I am still proud to say I was once 1 in the "world" at something.
