Original Call of Duty Confirmed for the Arcade

Written Monday, July 13, 2009 by Alan Pettit

As I watched the unpackaging of Modern Warefare 2's Prestige Edition, two things dawned on me. First of all, limited editions are getting insane. It used to be you'd get some stickers or a patch at best. Now we're getting cat helmets and actual, functioning articles of war. Second, I realized Infinity Ward just confirmed that the original Call of Duty, previously only on the PC (and rumored through ESRB and PEGI ratings popping up online), is definitely heading to the Xbox Live Arcade, and a download code will be included as one of the extras in the Prestige Edition.
Source.

Skip to about 2:46 in the video for the confirmation.

Will it have achievements?

Re: Original Call of Duty Confirmed for the Arcade

If it's an arcade game then yeah probably, if it's a classic then no.

Re: Original Call of Duty Confirmed for the Arcade

Arcade games are really over-priced.. Along with gamer pictures and themes..

I can't say I love CoD but depending on the price, I might buy it.

Re: Original Call of Duty Confirmed for the Arcade

Or you could buy the prestige edition of Modern Warfare 2 and get a code for free..

Re: Original Call of Duty Confirmed for the Arcade

Oh what's the point when you can get it on PC :P

Re: Original Call of Duty Confirmed for the Arcade

The original is a classic so would be good for those that missed it on PC to pick it up.

Re: Original Call of Duty Confirmed for the Arcade

You can still get it on the internet shops.

Buying the extras for the prestige edition would probably cost more than the arcade game itself.

As I said, I'm not a huge fan of CoD so why would I buy prestige?

I buy a game to play the game. I couldn't give a damn about the art work and the development team.

Re: Original Call of Duty Confirmed for the Arcade

I've played the original so many times, both Single Player and Multiplayer Online, such a great game! Best series out of all.

I've already beaten the following: Call of Duty (PC), Call of Duty: United Offensive (PC), Call of Duty 1: Finest Hour (PS2), Call of Duty 2 (Xbox 360), Call of Duty 2: Big Red One (PS2), Call of Duty 3 (PS2&Xbox360), Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (Xbox360), Call of Duty: World at War (Xbox360), Call of Duty World at War: Final Fronts (PS2).

And I need to beat: Call of Duty 3: Roads to Victory (DS), Modern Warfare 2 (Xbox360).
