Osama Bin Laden

Especially when you consider the Saddam execution. Osama was an even bigger price, so you'd think they'd display "their catch" for all to see and eventually have the new government of Iraq execute him, like Saddam.

They said that they dumped the body because no country would accept the body. I dont buy it.

Do we think maybe they just killed him ages ago but didn't tell anyone till now? Because they news would get them out of a tight spot if they got into one, and Obama wasn't very high on the popularity list until now...

You'd be surprised... I mean, it makes sense, doesn't it? Uniting the people and all that. Worked for us with the Royal Wedding, except it was a wedding, not killing a terrorist.

I feel sad that so many people lost their lives. I know he had to be stopped, but all the hate has got to stop. Is this the end, no I don't think so, power hungry people are in every country, always wanting things their way. My trust in humanity is dwindling. I try to watch the good news, where ever I can find it. I guess that's why I love to play my games, I WIN! :shifty:

Yeah I know how you feel, yet my trust died ages ago. Games offer an escape from all the mistrust and tragedy that surrounds us in the real world.

Their objective was to kill him, rather than catch him. This was to prevent Al Quaeda taking high profile hostages to trade.

They buried him at sea pretty much straight away because A. For religious reasons, the body must be buried (or whatever) within 24 hours of death, and B. To prevent Osama's burial grounds being worshipped at as a shrine.

Seems sus to me. There's no pictures/videos of his body or death, and they immediately dump his body in the ocean so that no one else can see it.

There are several possibilities as to what actually happened. I never trust anything the government says right away anymore, but I'm going to wait for more information to be released to develop my own theory.

And Obama keeps emphasising his part in the matter, basically claiming the whole thing was his idea. The whole thing happening as he's going into a reelection campaign... I'll just say that it'd be pretty silly to run against him at this point in time.

Well, the 2012 election is still a year and a half away. Still, Bush made his "mission accomplished" speech about a year and a half before the 2004 election, and that was very obviously a campaign propaganda stunt, so I wouldn't say you're wrong, but that can't be the only thing this is about. We simply have yet to figure some more things out.

It's not like Obama really has to do a lot of campaigning though. I mean, look who the Republicans are thinking of putting up. Donald Trump? Yea right, like he'd ever win the presidency.

His popularity has risen? What is this, the dark ages? Bring your enemy's head on a pike to impress the peasants and all that?

I understand where you're coming from, and it is wrong and strange, but that's still the way it is.

Saddam's burial ground didn't become a shrine. It is just, if you'll excuse the nautical pun, fishy.

To be fair, Saddam wasn't a religious icon who had masterminded a massive attack on US soil.

Well basically all we've got to go on is a presidential speech and a bunch of news reports. That's hardly proof.

My law teacher made that same joke yesterday...

The Osama isn't dead theory... Explain? I mean, I get it, but give me info.

Well, info is the main component here. We have none that proves his death, as Arseface said. It's really not a theory that he's still alive anyway. It's more like the possibility that the United States didn't find and kill him like they say they did. I think it is incredibly unlikely that he is still alive, but it is possible that he was killed by something other than United States gunfire. He had kidney failure many years ago. That could have done him in.

If Osama isn't dead, he could easily prove that he is alive with another tape, with him holding a copy of a very recent newspaper.

Furthermore, Obama confirmed that Osama is dead on national television and tied his name to it. If it turned out that Osama was still alive, it would ruin Obama's career. Obama is smarter than that.
