Overlord

Anyone remember and play the original? Even the expansion that stealthily came out several months later? How about the sequel that came out this week?

Anyway, I've been unable to pick up the sequel as of yet, though I fully enjoyed the first game.

I'd recommend renting the game up, the old or new one, as even from the demo of 2 it seems to hold on to most of the gameplay from 1, which in itself was easy to pick up and reliable, but added new, interesting features.

Also, the satire on fantasy games and races and general heroes is worth the buy alone, those damn Elves...

Re: Overlord

I have the first one. I love it because it has simple controls and so many possibilities of killing your enemies. I've played the demo for the second one and I thought, "Hmm, this is just like the first one...BUT BETTER." It's always much appreciated when a sequel to a good game keeps the same basic features but make major changes to things like graphics and customization. Excellent job, Bethesda Softworks.:D

Re: Overlord

Played the demo, and it was pretty good. Those hippie elves are freakin' hilarious!

Re: Overlord

What..?

Triumph and Codemasters have nothing to do with Bethesda.

Re: Overlord

Oblivion (Bethesda) series gave a basis to games based in Medieval and Mythical times.

Re: Overlord

I really, really, REALLY hope you are joking.
If not, you are a sad, pathetic man.

Re: Overlord

To tell the truth, "Bethesda" just slipped out because I was just playing Oblivion.:hmm: I think I made a good little saving throw though.

Re: Overlord

I have the original, its quite good actually. I dont really intend to get the new one any time soon though. Il get it used when the price goes down or just rent it. I do intend to get it eventually though, Im just not in a big hurry. Iv still gotta try prototype and a few other games first.

Re: Overlord

I liked the first game but the 2nd looks better. It has more monsters, enemies, abilities and I also saw a picture of cute seal that appears in the game which puts it in my good books.

But the best part is you can have several wives! Yay!

Re: Overlord

My wife brought the first Overlord off eBay quite cheap and I managed to play a couple of hours on it. It seemed like a pretty good game to me - felt an awful lot like playing Fable, if I do say so myself. :P

Shame I never got round to finishing it, it seemed like a pretty good laugh as well.

Re: Overlord

Oh, the second game is much more humorous, playing is also much easier, and there is not so much a "Corruption or not" meter anymore since every action is just plain evil.

Also, ghost mistress, ghost sex.

If you do, make sure you get the Raising Hell expansion/DLC, ties in nicely with the plot/main character of Overlord 2.
