Re: Painting sold for $73 million

A fool and his money are soon parted.

Re: Painting sold for $73 million

Maybe I should flog some of my artwork...you all know how amazing my skillz are...

I'm not an art lover - I like what I like, but when it gets all weird and deep about how the artist was trying to portray the lack of humanity (when discussing a toilet seat in the Tate Modern) it loses me completely. My kid could paint that picture though - she sure as hell isn't gonna get 73 million for it though...

Hells, for 73 million dollars I'd produce, package AND deliver it to you all by myself.

Modern Art sucks, just like alot of "modern" things like Modern Society and Modern Man ect ect...

Things were better before.... Michelangelo's David, Rodin's The Thinker, Mona Lisa ect ect... now THAT is art. You can speak about different tastes all you want, but that oh so cleverly named "White Center" aint art. No wait, how wrong of me: it is Preschool art.

I hope that was sarcasm. But back to the point, this artist, surely must be dead, or really famous, for a pethetic painting like that, to be sold for $73 mill

Good point though. Perhaps the reason why it sold was the artist or something. Maybe the buyer was a major collector of said artist's work or just had something else in mind. Heck, they could even sell it back for more to some other wackjob billionaire! It's just the way works sometimes, strange or not...

Re: Painting sold for $73 million

Holy ****... literally

I would rather go buy a whole ****load of games with 73 million dollars >.<

Re: Painting sold for $73 million

wise investments! :w00t::lol:
oh man... that's a good one, Devalion
... what sort of responsible people do you think we are? O.o

Re: Painting sold for $73 million

Invest? Haha, 73 million DOLLARS are like 730 million SEK (Swedish Crowns) - you don't have to invest! Nyahaha, just spending that kind of money before you die is... quite a feat.

Re: Painting sold for $73 million

You are right. What was I thinking?

Oh, sure. Like we're all really that responsible:rolleyes:. I imagine most of us would blow all that money in a day or two... maybe even less for some of us.
