Firstly, jobs aren't side quests. They are glorified, dull, brainless mini-games. Maybe if forging entailed traveling the land searching for rare metals then smelting them into ore and then finally crafting the blade I would consider it a side quest, but it's simply a boring game of timing. The main quest is short, painfully short. Side quests are boring, Fable 1 had way more quests and the side quests were actually fun. Raising a family is almost as boring as well. It's not like my child and wife have this incredible back story that I slowly have to unravel by having intimate conversations with them each morning. I simple visit them once and a while, do a little dance, blow a kiss and offer some preasants. Yeah, that sounds like it could add hours upon hours to the gameplay! *sarcasm*
Don't get me wrong, I love this game. It's one of the best games I've played in years, but it has some serious flaws and I hate how people are just ignoring them. The lack of engaging questing is one of those glaring flaws.

So far I've just gotten the quest to go into the spire.

Now, it seems like not that much in terms of storyline completion, at least I really hope it doesn't. The problem is: I see Master weapons at the Crucible, and I've already got rank 4 Brutal and Dextrous Styles.

Without spoiling, using a scale of 1 - 10 tell me how far I am in the storyline/game

For example if I was to guess, (Hopefully) I should be like 3/10th through the game.

This game is what you make it. You can rush through and feel disappointed, or you can walk around and hear people talking amongst themselves, and they will ask for aid. Like the grave yard quest, and other quests as well, You have to talk to the NPC's, or you will only get the main storyline. In every town the little npc's have their own problems, they need help with, from you the hero.

I'm not picking at you bro, I just think the flaws you pointed out are more a matter of your own opinion. There are flaws in the game though, I've definitely noticed some glitches after playing for a few days.
