Re: Possible Scythe Spoiler

Don't suppose there'd be any, so it's a good thing we've got our semi-undead friend Scythe guiding us through the damning process and helping us either save or curse Albion. Suppose that's all in character choice... but that's more than likely a discussion for another time. Would have to say though... now that I think about it, makes me a bit sad that Scythe won't be the mentor in Fable 2. I rather think I'd like being led around by a decaying corpse that just happened to be the most powerful thing to set foot in my range of vision.

Re: Possible Scythe Spoiler

I don't expect him to be a mentor, but i expect him to be a large part of the story. I think if we choose a path that is similar to the ones taken by the previous people he tried to help (excluiding the hero) then he will either challenge us or disappear again.

I reckon that lady that will be our mentor i think her name is Theresa will be in contact with him...but thats all just speculation.

Re: Possible Scythe Spoiler

i dint think about that. i thought when it said vanished, it meant he actually died. hmm, new angle. very interesting.

Re: Possible Scythe Spoiler

I'm with you on that as well Ranger, and by the way eastwood, most of my 'ideas' are just coming from what's said in those Tales of Albion, comparing everything. "Ornate sword, tarnished golden armor, torn blue cloak, etc." - "Sword of Aeons, gold mail, royal blue cloak."

Re: Possible Scythe Spoiler

Dunno. It's a really obvious connection so probably.

Re: Possible Scythe Spoiler

They did make it a bit more obvious than needed I suppose... so I'd guess you're right in that he'll probably be sticking around for a while. Besides...
Will gave his soul to the Sword of Aeons, maybe that explains why Scythe is still alive, the sneaky old bag of flesh.

yes it's extremely blatant, and it is a good thing to speculate on until more Fable 2 news comes out in my opinion. :D

Re: Possible Scythe Spoiler

I'd have to agree, only problem I have is if I figure any of the main storyline out correctly. Don't know why, but I always get a bit unhappy with myself for ruining any part of the story for myself. Still, it's something good to speculate on, definitely.

Re: Possible Scythe Spoiler

i think they'll be something in this Fable 2 to do with the old Kingdom and things. I mean, personally why else include all this information?
Yes, it could be just to satiate us hungry fable fans (and we know how hungry we can be) but ultimately I think it might be leading to something in the story. If nothing else, some notable nods.

Re: Possible Scythe Spoiler

Got a good point, not to mention that what we know of the story so far is oddly similar to what happened to the Old Kingdom.

Re: Possible Scythe Spoiler

I don't think Scythe is in Fable II at all... I can imagine new commers wondering who the hell he is.
*poff* "hello there, Hero, I'm Scythe.. wanna learn some cool sh!t?"
Well maybe Lionhead can think of a better line..
Anyway Theresa is the mentor, it's mentioned in several previews.. come to think of it, wasn't the sister of the Hero from Fable I named Theresa?
Could be her, or maybe they just like the name, or ran outta names..

Re: Possible Scythe Spoiler

I've only thought that it was a nod to the old Theresa, maybe a tie or two, but the bets on Scythe being in Fable 2 are semi-high if you ask me. (Which I'm aware noone did.) Only reason I say that though... is because of what looks to be his past, etc. etc., and how he's gone through it before. (Assuming he's Will.)

Re: Possible Scythe Spoiler

Yeah.. I can see why you think he will be in Fable II and play some sort of role, thing is.. I never really liked the guy..
lol, I'm actually hoping he wont be in Fable II, but that Jack will.
But I think that Jack wont and Scythe will.. and Jack should have the voice actor from the original Fable, in TLC the voice didn't match the character (swift, ninja like, cunning) he sounded like Rambo on steroids..

Re: Possible Scythe Spoiler

Interesting idea there, Rambo on steroids... ought to be the voice of the hero once you've maxed out his strength and such. Buuuut... I see where you're coming from. TLC gave Jack a whole new feel, and that dragon burrowed its scaly way into my heart for him. As for Scythe, I never cared for him much either, other than the fact that he was like a living historical landmark, and never failed to make you feel physically superior.

Re: Possible Scythe Spoiler

Exactly! physically superior..
Really want a badguy, who makes me feel the other way (like the bad dude is physically superior) , and I don't mean like Twin Blade, he was too slow. I want to fight an enemy who really is superior to me, and beats me at the beginning of the game, but later on I will eventually beat him!
Lucien seem too weak to do that. idk anything about him, but I imagine him as not very strong in battle, but the brain behind every bad thing happening in Albion.
So he must have a bodyguard who takes care of the dirty work for him.

Re: Possible Scythe Spoiler

I can pretty easily envision him being much like a certain "Lady Grey" and sending a bunch of Guards the size of trolls after you. As for Twinblade, had he not been so easy to defeat, he would've been my favorite ex-hero by far, seeing as he's got plenty of the qualities I myself am quite interested in.

Re: Possible Scythe Spoiler

The brute strenght, eh?
I love ninjas - so I don't wanna get too big, which means I gotta have some Will and/or Skill to rely on since I'll be a bit weaker in strenght.

Re: Possible Scythe Spoiler

Well, in the original I went with almost nothing but strength, and TLC I used a bit of magic, but that was only the odd spell here and there to wreak havok on unsuspecting guards and villagers and such.

Re: Possible Scythe Spoiler

Yeah I did that on my first run - always do that, i always start out as a melee type of guy.
But in Fable II I will try some magic, CAUSE! you can buy a spell/skill theh try it out, and if you don't like it you can unlearn it - just like that! now that calls for some experimenting

I hope the character gets a voice and actually speaks this time. I enjoy seeing my character develop throughout the story like that, instead of going around speechless except for the odd word here and there.
