Think your PC needs a cleanup and registry clean by sounds of it.

This tool may help slightly:

CCleaner.com

Go to alternate download and use the cleaner and fix issues also.

ok, im running the scan aaand-
.............................4 gigabytes of stuff to remove!!!
and 1923 issues removed.

ok, fable still doesnt work and the requirements lab still does nothing. i did what it said and turned all my security settings off, but still no response.

If you're operating system is as good as you say it is "Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor 3200+, MMX, 3DNow, ~2.0GHz Memory: 1024MB RAM" Than these things shouldn't be happening.

yeah i know, thats what is confusing me. it also seems that fable is the only game that gives me these problems, the rest run smoothly will moderately high graphics settings. maybe i should reformat the computer in time, usually that fixes whatever is wrong, even though it is such a drastic thing to do.

4Gb of stuff and so many issues is quite a big deal and thats just a basic program that fixes minor problems so maybe theres some big problem thats causing this.

Hmm, any ideas on how to find this out?
My plans are:
1. Virus Scan
2. Spyware Scan
3. Defragmentation
4. Disk Cleanup
5. CCleaner after all that.

Would those be a good start?

Do you have Spybot Search and Destroy. <---Very good program.

Registry Mechanic is also a good program, but you need a purchase copy for it to work fully. But yeah, seems like a good start to me.

Hahah, YES I FINALLY HAVE SOMETHING YOU SAID! I've had S&D for quite awhile, I love it, its so easy to use. And yes, I have Registry Mechanic too. I used to have Norton Antivirus 2005 but never renewed it. However, I can still scan with AVG or Avast.

PS - Thanks so much guys for helping me out as much as you have-I'll post again when I've done all this, hopefully these will solve the problems.

Norton Antivirus is evil anyway :lol: Avast I had for a while and I liked it. AVG was good too. I have AntiVir now. good luck

I've been following this thread for a while, and I do have a suggestion. But it's a lot of work. Sort of crazy actually...

Create a virtual system on your pc, and install Fable on it.

It's a lot of work, and if it works it only tells you that your copy of Fable is ok, and that 'something' goes wrong when you install Fable on your pc (and that you already know). On the other side; if it does work, you can play Fable...

P.S. - Does the new system I create use 60 GB on my own hard drive?

For example, creating the virtual hard drive.

When I wrote 'a lot of work' I meant it. I don't know if you know what gets involved when starting a virtual pc? It takes a lot of space (the operating system, software you want to run -Fable in this case-, and extra space to run the entire thing). And a lot of time; you've got to install Virtual PC, Windows XP, probably some drivers and Fable...

Don't get me wrong, I think it can work, but you should know what you're about to try.

yeah, i'll have to think this through first, maybe just finding another game or formatting the computer is easier.
