Project Natal £150

and $250 I understand.

Who will be buying, who thinks it is ridiculous and who is going back to the N64 with me.

I personally think that Natal will fail. It costs as much as a Wii and will probably function just as badly.

Re: Project Natal £150

No, you got that backwards. It will cost $149.99; this is pure speculation however.

I first heard this from my cousin who said £150. I'm not sure either now, but I wont be getting it either way because gaming has lost its finesse for me, it's too commercial.

Re: Project Natal £150

Would you pay $149 USD for Project Natal? According to a report from Edge, that's what current Xbox 360 owners should expect to pay when the much-hyped motion sensing camera from Microsoft launches later this year. Edge, citing a "trusted source," the same individual who fed the outlet details on Gears of War 3's coming out party, also claims the Project Natal accessory will be available as a bundle. The Xbox 360 Arcade version of the console, plus Natal, will reportedly arrive at $299 USD. Xbox 360 Arcade units are currently going for $199 USD, with a pair of games included.
Natal at $149 may be a better deal than the amount some European retailers were attaching to the device, a price tag that Microsoft called "pure speculation." But at fifty bucks shy of the console itself and a couple games, it ain't cheap.
Whether it's too rich for your blood depends on your financial circumstances, but early reaction to the price doesn't appear to be overwhelmingly positive.

Re: Project Natal £150

£150, rumour or not, still seems a little too pricey for me. I understand there's different variables to take into account, like: more games in future will take advantage of the hardware and will thusly provide you with more bang for you buck, so to speak. However, for those of us who don't really have an extensive 360 gaming library or expect to extend that library anytime soon then I can't imagine Natal being a brilliant investment.

Personally, the only 360 game coming out that I know will definitely support Natal and that I actually have any interest in buying is Fable 3. And unless the Natal integration in Fable 3 is MIND-BLOWINGLY awesome then I'm sure I will pass on the accessory.

Truth be told: I have absolutely no interest in Natal anyway.

Oh fair enough, +Rep.

I'm really underwhelmed about these gaming developments as of late, all of the companies already know what they're going to release in 5 or 10 years time, they just want to bleed it to us to make more money and the products are kinda crappy anyway, and games aren't a challenge any more like they used to be. I feel old :(

EDIT: I just remembered, Rep has been disabled. Pat yourself on the back.

Re: Project Natal £150

Too expensive, not enough. I will stick with Wii until Natal drops down or gets insanely popular.

Re: Project Natal £150

What about "it's overpriced, but I'll still buy it"? That would be my choice, i guess I'll just go with the first one.

Re: Project Natal £150

Overpriced and offers little entertainment, I'm likely to purchase a Wii before touching Natal & Move.

As for Natal surviving, it's arguable. Sony & Microsoft are awfully late to the party and Nintendo has already conquered the casual market, I doubt the majority who own a Wii are going to flock to Move & Natal for what they essentially already own.

Then again, people can be quite silly.

Re: Project Natal £150

If every game in 10 years requires me to jump around my room, I wont be happy.

I don't support Natal. It serves no decent purpose and the Xbox community are known for being "hardcore gamers" so it wont satisfy them. It's not something I'll look into.

Re: Project Natal £150

I dunno. It has sort of a Virtual Boy feeling over it. Prolly won't be getting it.

Yes, but with the Wii you need remotes in your hand. With Natal, you only need your body, no batteries (unless you're a robot) and no controllers that go flying out of your hand into the TV.

Mmm, this is true. But with Natal, you're going to have to move some furniture & decorations out of the way (depending on setup) so you don't knock stuff down or break things. I can easily imagine my sister's kids swinging their legs & arms around breaking things with Natal. It's bad enough that they don't like to wear the wrist strap when on the Wii.

Daughter: Look mom! Look what I can do! Watch.... *BAM!*

Mother: NOOOOO!

Re: Project Natal £150

It would never sell at that price so id be guessing that if it did release at that price it would drop fast. Personally id go out on a limb and say that someone has merely guessed that figure and it wont be anywhere near that. No matter how cheap i wont be using it though as it doesnt interest me in the format its currently been advertised in.

This.

I'd rep you if I could. That's totally, totally how I feel. My step-daughter would love Natal, I bet, but she's be just as happy with a Wii. And the PlayStation 'Move' interests me even less.

I really hope that this time in 10 years we won't be swamped by shovelware party games.

Re: Project Natal £150

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Natal hasn't interested me since it was anounced, but I was always under the impression it was a little add-on you could buy for 50 squid to enhance games. I wouldn't have gotten it then, and I won't get it now. Damn you Microsoft.

Re: Project Natal £150

Natal never really interested me, and at that price, hell no I'm not getting it. I would have to see it in action and really be impressed to get it.
