I'm opening this thread, to make you notice (if you haven't already then you should definitely keep reading!) That ｢Projectego｣ has a ｢Beta Chat｣.

However, many people avoid to stay within the Chat for prolonged times, few are those who likely will stay for hours. If you want to see a person i.e. <INSERT_FORUM_MEMBER_NAME_HERE>, the best thing to do is to leave the chat open, and eventually the person you like to talk to will probably come around. Therefore, idling inside the chat-room isn't prohibited by any rule.

Well, I just hope to see more people around the chat, and more often than what's it now.

If you want to talk to someone, then there's always PMs and VMs. But yeah, chat is pretty cool. It's mostly just me and ONI being AFK.

I usually get a disconnection after a while and don't notice it because sounds are turned off. And usually because I'm multi-tasking to the max as well.

It's not a BETA chat anymore. At least, that's my guess as the navigation bar doesn't contain that term anymore.

Surely it wasn't finalized, but that doesn't mean that no new "builds" could be released. And Steve mentioned that Andy and he would switch to a new forum solution (being software) once the beta of XF has shown to be of good promise. So any changes are most likely temporary anyway.

I fail to see whether that was meant to be sarcasm or not, Cheez. If not, mind saying why that would be the case? As far as I care, forums are much more important than a chatroom. It's just a little addition.

Think he means you have to keep an eye on it more and be quicker to respond to messages so need to pay attention to the chat more. Whereas you can leave the forum for a while and come back and answer people later.

Doesn't that make it sound like some kind of new world order conspiracy?

in a nutshell, yeah. i can do a quick scroll over the forums every hour if i'm just hanging in my room then go off and do other stuff. for the chat room that isn't close to enough time to really get a conversation going. it's in real time so i'd need to be sitting there literally the whole time if i wanted to talk to someone.

Exactly this. A lot of members don't seem to understand this basic concept.

Just a reminder, spamming in the chat counts as breaking a forum rule too. Especially the people that spam Enter and Quit messages of the chat.

There are people, however, who get several session ends in a minute or two. I'm not sure what the reason of this might be, but they cannot help it. At least, unless it has been fixed by now-- which I'm not sure of.

No, I'm talking about people that spam this. Someone about a hour ago spammed that thing for 38-42 times in the chat, for about two minutes. Which is ridicolous, if you hate a place then don't get in it.
