Question on making weps.

I watched Morerunes' videos about creating weapons, but I still have a question. I created a blender file based off of the sword template he used in the vids. I am making a lightsaber (w00t). I kept the original handle from the template but I got rid of everything else (Ends of handle, Blade). I then added a cylinder for the saber blade. Should I still follow the same process or will it work at all?:ninja:

EDIT: I also tweaked the handle/Hilt to fit the blade

I can't answer your question, but morerunes made a good light saber. It is part of a weapon pack he made, but he also links to a zip file with individual fmps. The saber is called Avo's Will Torch.
