Quite short, dont ya think?

Fable 2 was really short compared to the original. I can beat the game in about 3 hours. The Original was much longer, took me a lot of extra time, with a lot of extra story missions. Do you agree?
Dont you think it could have used more story missions?

Re: Quite short, dont ya think?

yeah it could use more, but what can you do? its what their decission.
i wish the would put little confrontations with Lucian throught the story, how many times do you see him, three times?

3 hours? i call BS on that
it takes me 8hrs to do fable tlc story line and 3 more hrs after that for 100% completion i know this cus the game times you
fable 2 on the other hand took me about a 7-8hrs for the main story line 3-4hrs for all the dlc and like 2-3 for 100% completion ive played through fable tlc 7 times and fable 2 4 times so my skills are not lacking

Re: Quite short, dont ya think?

It usually takes me a little less than 7 hours to beat TLC. As for Fable 2, it seems like it takes kind of a long time, but then again my games on TLC seem longer than 7 hours lol. Anyhoo, it'd take maybe an hour less to beat Fable 2 than it takes to beat TLC, and my skills aren't lacking either. I'm hoping to hit 20 times with both TLC and Fable 2 next week .

But back on topic...

I do agree that the storyline is too short, but I really don't care as much as most other people seem to. I'd probably be happier with a longer game, but I'm fine with the length that it's at.

Re: Quite short, dont ya think?

Took me longer to complete Fable II than it did Fable. I took my time with both and tried to do as much of the game as i could. Theres just more things to do in Fable II.

Re: Quite short, dont ya think?

If you rush through the main quest then yes it is quite short. But the Fable games are more about the stuff you can do on the side. It takes me quite a while to complete either game because I'm off doing other things. Making new outfits, getting NPCs drunk, messing with guards, side missions, buying houses, trying to make your character as cool or goofy as possible, seeing how many STDs you can get, sacrificing people, marrying everyone you can, and the list goes on. The game was disigned with the idea that you can do whatever you want. There is tons of stuff to do besides the main quest.

Precisely, same as Oblivion and Fallout 3 for example. Main quests are around 10-13 hours but games can last over 100 hours.

Re: Quite short, dont ya think?

You must take your time for fable II and do some sidequests 2 you also shouldnt always use fast travel because than you also have longer gaming time.

Just like Drakan says its like fallout 3 its a very big game but you can play trough the mainquests in 10 hours im palying fallout 3 for over 100 hours and im still not bored

Currently on 3rd play through and if you totalled up my playtime it would be around 230 hours. Still finding new things and got achievements to get and quests to do also.

Eh maybe i was exaggerating quite a bit, i'd say 5 hours then. and i was referring to fable 2. (i have no sense of time BTW so you'll have to excuse me) Anyway, In Fable the beginning part is much longer, there's childhood, then apprentince training. That takes a while, then you have to do a bunch of quests, which arent optional. then you go to the bandit camp, then you go to withcwood and find the archealogist, knothole glade to kil them balverines, you then go to the arena, then you save the archeaologist, then you go to bargate prison, then you get out of bargate prison. ok i kinda forgot what happened next.... um i'll just skip to killing jack of blades (but are you sure you kiled him yet). Then there's this expansin in which you go and kill jack's dragon form.

In fable 2 its, childhood, going to the abandoned guild to unlock will powers, kill thag, get a job in bowerstone and meet theresa to talk about mission, then you go to oakfield, you have to kill dash, then you talk to the temple of light guy and you either get the mission or get more renoun then you do the spring cave thing and you get hammer recruited, Then you go to brightwood tower only to have garth kidnapped, so now you get luciens diary(which doesnt take long) then you go to westcliff(this takes some time) you then gain renoun and go into the crucible. you then go to the spire(bargate prison equivalent) and then you escape it with garth. then you open the cullis gate, and go to bloodstne then you gain renoun and go the shadow court, then you go directly to lucien. then you kill him (this takes a while)

Eh, the paragraphs are about eh same size Maybe i just hvent played fable in a while

im still on the same save havent found every location yet if i have found them all i will start new profile :P

Re: Quite short, dont ya think?

its true, the storyline cant exactly be considered long, but i think they make up for that with everything else you can do on it, when it goes past the storyline i dont think fable has that much to offer compared to fable 2

+ rep
So to sum it up Fable 2 have more to offer, although many believes the first Fable to be the best - not including me. Although I did enjoy killing the Guild Master :shifty:
oh! and the hooded version of the guild clothes, Mmmm golden

Re: Quite short, dont ya think?

I would blame this on the quick travel, because it's nuts how you can pretty much travel to any location at any time...

When I watch people play Fable II though, they chuck on the glowing trail an just follow it for the whole time, and I sit there thinking to myself : "What is this guy doing?!?! does he like want to get it over and done with ASAP...WTF!!!"

but I instantly turned off the glowing trail and made sure that I was rich and had good weapons before I even talked to Theresa at the clock tower.
Now that I think about it, it's something that gave me a good experience for Fable II.

Fable II is great for 100% completion though, because it's not overwhelming (like Assassins Creed flags)

No, If you found Fable II too short, it must've have been short, but so so sweet.

AC flag hunting was EPIC, and epic fail :(
Another thing I love about Fable: the silver keys and now the gargoyles:
Yes it looks a lot like the flag hunting in AC, BUT there's a big difference: in Fable you actually get something from collecting all silver keys and shooting all the gargoyles, to me, that's a big motivation, rather than an achievement ^_^

Re: Quite short, dont ya think?

i never played the original though i did find this quite short

Re: Quite short, dont ya think?

Ha! Reward from silver keys? what, 50k?? lol, but for Fable I'm a collector

Re: Quite short, dont ya think?

Who doesnt collect everything on fable? i mean ive got everything that i could get without going on xbox live. Because i dont have broadband so i sort of cant.

Its a good idea to do that because then you can say that you have actually clocked and completed everything in the game.

Re: Quite short, dont ya think?

I did every quest 3 times round and collected Gargoyles and Silver Keys everytime it bored me but it was rewarding from Gargolyes but for silver keys...
