id Software has released a new trailer that takes a deeper look into the game of RAGE, showing that there is more to the game than just a desolate wasteland, guns, and madness-driven mutants. It also gives a brief glimpse into the making of the game as well.

Really hope this ends up as good as its looking and isnt another recycled, mediocre shooter in an overly crowded genre.

Ditto. It's going to be a very long wait until Fallout 4 is pumped out, and in the meantime I'll be needing a good post-apocalyptic fix.

Im just hoping it doesnt just repeat the Quake/Doom formula again as it just wont cut it. Duke Nukem Forever instantly showed its age by trying to repeat that style.

True, though I'd say Duke was a special case since it was being built upon decade-old tech and coding, and having been shifted through various developers throughout its time with a lack of envisioning.

"We don't give your character a name or face."

I hate this tactic so much because that means the dialogue will only refer to you in the fashion of "Oh... it's you." That is a bullshit story telling tactic. :|

Yeah they should give characters names otherwise there is no way of people interacting with them with any emotion or meaning as they dont 'know' you. Also i know its an FPS but faces can be shown in cutscenes like a lot of other shooters to get around the fact its a first person game. So it seems a bit of a lame excuse if they aim to create a meaningful story like they claim.

While I do agree to an extent, I'd rather not have to walk around with a fixed name in something like The Elder Scrolls with as many different playthroughs and characters that I go through.

Yeah with RPG's like that its rather different as there are many customisation options but a shooter like this has no reason to not give you a name etc.
