That made me laugh.

Re: Really? f*cking magic rings?

boooooooo ****ing hoo big deal "oh i dont get to have the magic myself...oh wait i have 2 rings that make really cool effects, nevermind" just stfu its not that big a deal

Re: Really? f*cking magic rings?

well Pakman maybe not for a piemaster but as a battlemage (or for a wizard) it is a big deal.
for example:
magical objects have (in other games) a limit to how much you can wear, because well they are objects like rings and you only have ten fingers (and ten toes but i don't see you shooting a spell from your foot) so you can only have so much spells
The second thing is that it kind of annoys me that Lionhead studios is putting so much energy in this even though they had a good system in the first one.
But even i can see some faults in fable 1 system so my opinion is:
take the magic rings as a bonus (NOT AS THE WHOLE SYSTEM ITSELF) and add unlimited spell charging (which they have in fable 3 what i think is a good thing) and you have the best system eva!

Re: Really? f*cking magic rings?

Also if you used magic alot you know that you would stand like half a minute charging the spell and you would get hit, this really wouldnt feel like i was a mighty hero (even though i had maxed out all skills) and because of this i would always use first the timeslowing spell thingy and the undead spell just so i could have some time to charge them up, but in fable 1 you could just cast a spell in a second. And thats how magic should be, it would be like using a sword , quick and exremely effective
(and the side effect would then be that you have mana, which can deplete).

Re: Really? f*cking magic rings?

Firstly, don't double post. You know there's an edit button, so use it.

Secondly, stop talking about a magic system that isn't even finished yet. You (and pakman) have no idea how it's going to be in the final cut. It could be great, it could be complete ****. I don't mind speculating over how it's going to be implemented, but stop acting like you know.

Re: Really? f*cking magic rings?

I like the idea of magic rings, we can trade em and say "Hey man what's your ring do?" "Oh dude it totally let's you shoot fire."

Also - Green lantern.

Re: Really? f*cking magic rings?

I agree with most of what Arseface said right there.

Also, sorry, but the F1 magic system is... controversial. Me, I HATED it. Sure, I could use three spells fairly easily, but if I wanted to use any of my other dozen spells it was a pain in the ass to get to them. F2 was still far from perfect, but at least I could use five or so spells without accidentally cycling beyond where I meant to and, say, using heal instead of lightning.

Sure, you could still get ****ed up, but it was harder to do so than in F1.

Admittedly, cycling through spells went from being error-causing in a battle to being damn near impossible in battle, but they made up for it by letting me toss off little force-*****slaps with impunity. And level five force push was god's gift to... well, me.

Also, Juggernaut, now that Vin Diesel has said it, I have to say that Dungeon's and Dragons is awesome, lest my head by smashed in.

Re: Really? f*cking magic rings?

first(LY) im a nub so i didn't know how to delete my post, so long story short, i couldn't delete it.
second(LY) i'm just making my opinion on the information i got and if you dont share my opinion then argue about it (WITH ARGUMENTS) but don't tell me what to do and what not.

PS:And what do you guys think about the system i came up to?

Re: Really? f*cking magic rings?

Well, no offense, halfgod, but your post was a pain in the ass to read. But I read it. And I have this to say:

NOOO MANA PLEASE DEAR GOD. That does not make me feel poweful. Running away to wait for my magic to recharge makes me feel like a ****.

Sitting there charging up as the pitiful mortals tried to beat me down before I blew them all halfway across the level, THAT made me feel powerful.

And from what you said, the magic made you feel pretty powerful already. "HAH! I slowed time, and now I shall finish magicking you into oblivion as you try to run towards me like a man up to his waist in the ocean."

And no, neither of the spell-selection methods were... optimal. But at least with the F2 method I never ended up casting one spell when I meant to do another, and got my ass kicked for my trouble.

And please, link to this article.

Honestly? That's what I was thinking of when I said it. But I have to say that I don't read Penny Arcade and I only knew about it because TVtropes ruined my life.

Re: Really? f*cking magic rings?

Fable 2's Magic system was good. At least, good enough for me.
Only downside is that it was too powerful, but that wasn't just the magic. >_>

Fable 3's magic system seems like it wouldn't be as good, but it could be actually excellent. I'm curious. =D

Re: Really? f*cking magic rings?

I don't have the link, so I can't prove it... =(
But I swear I saw a video where Peter Molyneux sat in a chair, a bit on the right side of the screen, and told us ''You have these magic rings that you put on, and can combine the weave spells.'' (or something like that, but that's what he meant.)

Re: Really? f*cking magic rings?

I want magical shoelaces

Re: Really? f*cking magic rings?

I really hate how Lionhead just makes the Fable games easier and easier and simpler and simpler. No mana in f2, no death etc.

Re: Really? f*cking magic rings?

I liked how they managed to make it easy, but still fun. I don't want to be micromanaging my mana and spells during a battle.

Look, man, F1 was ALREADY easy as ****. F2 didn't make it noticeably easier.

Also, yeah, magic shoelaces, or failing that, a hat. Also, big ****ing (magic) axes.

nooooooooooo.

It's not getting easier, or dumbed down or anything. they're making it more "accessible"

Re: Really? f*cking magic rings?

Maybe they'll let us charge magic into weapons for elemental based attacks or something.

Re: Really? f*cking magic rings?

Then, I want my dog to be considered a 'magical object'. I hate that dog...
Then I can set him on fire and throw a barking fireball at my enemy.
*Whahahahh!!!*
Alright, maybe not. Then, (as in Fable 2) a guitar! But one that converts your playing (metal) style into awesome spells, that fit the notes. \m/
