Re: Reavers Role in Fable III

As directed to Edmunt,

I believe I can relate to your "distress" over the lack of "quality" pickings, however, with the marriage system currently installed within the first two games of the franchise, I am honestly glad such a delectable character "wasn't" an option. Before jumping to conclusions against such a preposterous claim, I will elaborate on the foundations of my statement.

In each of the preceding Fable games, I come to ask myself, "What does marriage entail to? What does it mean?" The answer? Absolutely nothing. Most of the interaction between the Player's character and the NPC is generic, one could marry a thug or even an aristocrat and get nearly the same responses, the same chance of getting one of the same names from the child-name generator, and around the same chance of either (or possibly both, if you are into that kind of thing. Naughty) spouse glitching and leaving after the Player has only been gone for roughly two to three minutes of in-game play. One wife or husband meant nearly nothing on a personal level, - let alone twenty, - and even the most dedicated of Gaming Role Players had a challenge finding reason to pay one-thousand gold (a rather minuscule amount) per day to keep an over-weight prune or a "pretty," - being a female, I can't say I agree, - money-grubbing prostitute. Now, imagine if Reaver was conformed to that station? A house-husband? No Sir! Even though the amount of demanded "sensual encounters" would finally make sense, - and I doubt many Players would mind the occasional out-of-the-way-visit for such a “well-formed” character (How I love double meanings), - having a Hero stay in a single town or household would be, to put it lightly, positively stupid.

That said, perhaps the Loyal Fable Followers will be pleasantly surprised by the new innovations said to be integrated in the upcoming Fable III. If it is possible to have in-game, live spying using a magical magnifying glass on a little table in the middle of the Player's "Man Cave," so called "gUIld," perhaps the Player's "Significant Other" will be able to have a more realistic AI system. A smart wife that doesn't jump around clapping when One is flirting with another man (or vice versa)? A good start. Another Hero (lover or married companion) that actually travels and makes havoc or fortune in your kingdom? "I believe we just struck gold, my friend!"

Edit:

To keep this post on topic in relation to the originally posted theme, I shall state once more that if the Developers wish to keep all sides of the "feuding" Reaver-topic content, which I believe they do, they will allow a number of options. Kill, marry, support, revenge, justice, are they not all fair game at this point?

Nice thinking Lady. All good ideas, I hope the delvelopers actually look at this thread and take this into mind. This is on my top 10 list of things I want to see in Fable 3.

Re: Reavers Role in Fable III

To, of course, Mr. Jacob,

You flatter me, Sir.

It would appear to be that there is very little to be given, very much to be had, very much to be wished for, and very much time to wait for the Foretold Day to wash our anxious minds with much-needed bliss or the dreadful madness of too much bliss, which ever the individual prefers. I, although succumbed with a little sadness, - or thoroughly too much pre-mature madness, - see very little chance that a validly horrifying or wrongly splendid conception is to come to fruition at this particular time. Although it is possible that many more posts are to follow forward - or perhaps for the shy, trail behind, rather? - with opinions on the aforementioned "tickle-me-pink" inklings, I see this as an uncommanding foreclosure of this topic, or even a challenge to prove this post forsakenly lost in early pages among pages stretched (Oh! No, no, no, Limber, yes, how very much delightful, much-so, much-so, that sounds indeed!) far beyond.

Quite a mouthful that one. Yes, quite so.

Edit:

I Feel very Mad today, and as proof of the monumental splendor of my very first evening of my delectable new Me, I think it right to use my own maddening post as my signature! What a glorious and thoughtless significance!

Re: Reavers Role in Fable III

I think Reaver could come to complain* about you being king, and he admits he needs your help for something, so you go. Unfortunately it was a huge lie and he was running low on sacrifices for the Shadow Court, and they said they'd let him off 100 further souls (Pirates of the Carribean, I know!) in exchange for the King of Albion.

After a fight, he's standing there being very persuasive and offers him his gun and 10,000,000 gold in exchange for his life. If you kill him he smashes his gun on the ground so you can't get it but you get his youth and don't age in the game (which I hope they bring back ni Fable III), but if you let him live he ages by 200 years and dies anyway, but you get his gun and can sell stuff he's wearing for up to 10,000,000 gold.

*Stroll into your castle with nothign but his gun, having slaughtered all of you guards - "Oh, they were yours..."

That's what she said - how's that for a signature?

Seriously though, can I pretty please get a link to whoever said Reaver would be in Fable III?

I'll kill him
