Recommend an Anime

I am not a mega-anime fan, but I am in a anime mood :3

There are so MANY animes out there I can't sift through all of them too find the genre I like.
Sooo, may I rely upon you guys?
The types of anime that I REALLY liked were:
Elfen Lied, Hellsing, Cowboy Bebop, Death Note, Vampire Hunter D, Soul Eater and Ergo Proxy.

Disliked or "Meh" were Witch Blade, any cutesy one like Lucky Star and any action packed fighting ones. So don't go alogn those lines.
Movies and shows are fine... Any suggestions?

Eiken Club and Gun Grave sounds good, I have seen Evangelion, not entirely but I have seen it, twas good, maybe good enough to rewatch all the way through.

Why if I may ask?

Naruto isn`t that bad actually. Plus, it`s visually very good (this is a matter of taste though)

^Same, what gets me though is I feel some sort of resentment because of the scene and the annoyingly high voices and cute imagery. I enjoy the dark almost gothic vibes and the art style. Gundam and Dragonball were the only Ninja/Fight aniem I enjoyed. I believe that covers the "Why no Naruto" question as well, leaving Naruto on this note: Sakura is a certain brand of hawt.

Aye, Gundam Wing was absent of ridiculous high voices. In the English dub version anyway. Dragon Ball was... well I could dig the first one. DBZ and DBGT stretched the suspension of disbelief too far for me. That and entire episodes consisted of protagonists and antagonists yelling lengthy dialogues at each other without any real plot substance.

Last time on Dragon Ball Z: Goku was preparing to blow up an uninhabited island in the middle of no where, and was spending thirty minutes screaming.
Aaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Die Kakarot!
*punch* *kick* *punch* *punch*
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Next time on Dragon Ball Z: Will Goku finally do anything worthwhile?

Couldn't get into it.

They have started to release English subbed remastered versions that also have all the filler cut out recently. Known as Dragon Ball Kai, it cut the episode numbers massively and also the rather irritating 4 episodes of powering up and chatting about things before actually doing anything. Im watching them all again and its about 38 episodes in, bringing back some nostalgic feelings i have to say & ive only ever liked DBZ and Death Note anime wise.
