According to Scott no-one really uses the report post feature here. If anyone sees any spam posts (bots) or anything they think should be brought to a staff members attention click the report post button under the post. Some spam posts have apparently gone unreported for months so it would be a big help if the community reported them to us if they see any.

This is merely being used as a test to see how many people use the feature and how much spam etc is around the place from time to time.

Oh, that's why I have been wondering whether you guys received my reports or not.

Scott mentioned it, when it did work hardly anyone used it but it hasnt been working for me for months. I assumed it was the same for everyone but then Scott said that the reports show up fine for him so its either Admin problem or just me.

I await what Steve has to say about it as I remember mentioning it some time ago but dont know what the situation is.

EDIT* Sharon looked into it and its has now been fixed, was merely a permissions issue for me.

Wait so you mean.... you guys never saw that thing I reported the other day?!

Oh thank fuuuuuuuuu-

Only YOU can prevent forest fires.

By which I mean bad posts.

Very true, we cant see everything all the time and if people dont report offensive posts and spam then we may not always see it. As like many members here we dont always read threads that dont interest us unless problems in them are brought to our attention.

Maybe so, but it's part of a staff member's job to do so whether they like it or not. In my opinion, more effort needs to be made to stay ontop of things regularly as they happen, as opposed to letting them pile up over time. We may not be perfect machines that spot everything in sight, but more of a unified effort can definitely be made from what I've seen.

If and whenever that may be, but when it doesn't get reported at all.. it just sits there for weeks and even months (which is evident from all the mess I cleaned up last night).

Some will always slip through the net whether you have 10 mods or 100 mods but if people dont report it then it cant bother them that much.

I just don't see the harm in actually clicking on some recently posted content for a few seconds (whether it interests the staff or not) and see what's up, to make sure things are good. Rather than sitting around waiting for that one person to report something.

Hold my hands up to this one - I've been pure lazy in recent months and as staff, it's not on. *pulls up admin socks*

Generally I do but its not until later in the afternoon I get to a computer and I check the forums on my phone at work usually so with the time it takes to load a page I only check the essentials in a morning. Granted up until recently I wouldnt have known either way seem as though I had no access to the forum reports.

Good boy! Here's your reward:
